JEALOUSY, WHO'S GOT IT BAD !!
This topic has been roaming and lingering my mind, for quite a while and it was brought up, so I thought yeah let me shoot out my own perspective and see what I can dish out for ya'll. ENJOY x
Jealousy to me is a way to exert control in a relationship. Personally both parties (Men & Women) have their fair share of blames to take from it, in many different ways. Psychologically it has been identified that men are jealous of sexual infidelity, simply because men need control therefore are possessive in a relationship and want to exert that on a woman, indicating that they are capable of being "That Man". While women are jealous of emotional infidelity because she wishes for reassurance that she will be safe in her relationship, therefore she searches for a man with such qualities.
Personally despite what all these articles and statistics or researches state, eventually it all comes down to trust and confidence in a relationship.Firstly if you lack confidence in yourself, you will always find a fault in your relationship, therefore causing you to question yourself, your partner and also your relationship, people also tend to also begin to doubt and compare their relationships with other people's relationships. Secondly a relationship is built on a foundation of trust, and without a foundation, there is nothing to hold the relationship up or support it. Lack of trust allows space for jealousy because you do not believe in your partner, therefore you look down on them, wishing they were something else.
So finally to say, jealousy simply leads to destruction of any relationship, whether it is a "Friend Zone Relationship, Platonic Relationship, Courtship Relationship or Even Marriage. It causes both parties to drift and the relationship is torn apart, and as Christians it is important that we seek God in all situations, it is normal human behavior to feel jealous, but when you put God into the equation, the problem becomes just a drop in the ocean.
