i didnt make it very far into huevemeber this year (still havent managed to break out of yellow sobs) but i figured id share what i did do

43 normal and devotion?? 👀👀

43. “Why are you/we whispering?”

Norm can taste blood and it’s from Dev’s mouth but they’re both so gloriously alive that he doesn’t care, the two of them clutched together like the only certain point in a storm of surging bodies. It’s so loud, screaming and howling and cheering, a world suddenly changed, upheaval and chaos everywhere but free, and Norm finds himself pulling away to knock his forehead against Dev’s, whispers, “I want to be Normal with you.” He opens his eyes to see Dev’s bright eyes and face-splitting smile, blood in his teeth and fire in his eyes as he tightens his hold on Norm’s waist to drag him in closer. “You have my Devotion,” he breathes, barely audible in the cacophony of noise around them, the city’s people celebrating and mourning in the streets en masse. “Why are we whispering?” “I don’t know!” Norm wheezes, burying his face and his grin in Dev’s shoulder, somehow feeling a part of himself settle into a calm, even as the world explodes all around them.
