      IF THERE’S ONE THING NYX CAN’T STAND, IT’S INTERRUPTIONS. It’s another thing entirely when it’s people snooping around his home. He’d had quite enough visitors between guardsmen, curious locals, and idiots thieves trying to trifle their way through a mage’s belongings. He had half a mind to set the next person who knocked on his door ablaze. He wouldn’t, of course, because murder by magic is generally frowned upon, but his patience was tried to a very thin line. So when there is another knock on his door, Nyx closes his eyes and resigns himself to go answer it. 

        Dismissing any wards of protection, Nyx swings open the heavy oaken door, a frown plastered on his face. It wasn’t necessarily unfriendly-- More unamused, if anything, if this was another blasted guardsmen come to “inspect” the new arrival. He’d only been here less than a month. 

             ❝ Yes, ❞ he starts, only taken aback briefly when he’s not met with a guard. The frown lessens into a softer, more neutral expression.  ❝ Can I help you? ❞

“Well, well. Is that Howl Pendragon that mine eyes do see? What luck I have.” Despite the situation, her voice is still light, a chime of all things. There have been worse situations, she thinks, times where death is a bigger reality than what has been presented here. So, she approaches it with a steady calm, and searches for others instead. 

“It’s good to see you, darling, I was afraid I wouldn’t run into any familiar faces in this mess. Is your home in this ward as well? Such an unfortunate case this is turning out to be, I would have evacuated had I known.” Driving a hand through her hair, Requiem offers a wry smile for the other. “I had been hoping for a break from this brand of nonsense.”
