March 3rd - Dewoz

An Inhuman who was transformed via Terrigenesis into a physical form that resembled that of an Alpha Primitive. Dewoz’s apparent transformation into an Alpha stirred a great deal of controversy among the Genetic Council. Dewoz’s family had been quite proud of their genetic heritage and this turn of events was a devastating blow to them and their standing in the social community. Furthermore, Chancellor Carthis utilized the occurrence as an opportunity to earn support for his interest in returning to the old customs of a greater adherence to the philosophy of eugenics and the practice of arranged marriages.

Carthis showed great contempt for Dewoz and, though he claimed that he would look after the youth’s best interests, he merely threw Dewoz in with the other Alpha Primitives and left him to fend for himself. It was all very traumatic for the young Inhuman.

Searching through the seemingly endless caverns below the city, Dewoz came across a mirror. Gazing into this mirror seemed to trigger Dewoz’s latent Inhuman powers, an ability to gain entry into an intra-dimensional mirror-realm accessible by any reflective surface.

Through this mirror, Dewoz was able to communicate with Maximus, who was incarcerated in a cell elsewhere on Attilan. Maximus intimated that Dewoz’s peculiar transformation was actually the result of his own tinkering… that the whole turn of events was a part of the mad prince’s schemes. Maximus exerted his mind controlling powers over Dewoz, forcing the young Inhumans to help him escape.

Gradually, Dewoz’s physical form began to change. His Alpha Primitive features diminished and he transformed into a statuesque being with glowing purple skin. After Maximus’ plot was finally unearthed, Dewoz was exonerated for his actions while under the villain’s influence.

Later, Dewoz had a romantic relationship with his former childhood friend, Tonaja. Their romance, however, was cut short when Tonoja was tapped to take part in an emissary/student exchange program with The united States down on Earth.

Dewoz was promoted to the Royal Guard during the Silent War event. He proved a key element in the recovery of the stolen Terrigen Crystals from within the fortified headquarters of the Office of National Emergency.

More recently, Dewoz was sent by Medusa on a highly dangerous reconnoissance mission to infiltrate Magneto’s Uncanny X-Men base in the Savage Land. Dewoz was captured during this mission and what Magneto’s team did with him remains unrevealed. It is likely that he was imprisoned with other Inhuman prisoners in the other-dimensional plain of Limbo. His current fate is unknown.

Dewoz’s family had been quite proud of their genetic heritage and this turn of events was a devastating blow to them and their standing in the social community.

Furthermore, Chancellor Carthus utilized the occurrence as an opportunity to earn support for his interest in returning to the old customs of a greater adherence to the philosophy of eugenics and the practice of arranged marriages.

More recently, Dewoz was tasked to spy on Magneto’s team of X-Men during the time of mounting tensions between New Attilan and the X-Men. Psylocke’s telepathic abilities enabled her to detect Dewoz and he was captured by Magneto’s X-Men. He was interrogated and kept prisoner and his ultimate fate has been left unrevealed. Presumedly, he was released with the other Inhuman prisoners when the Inhuman/X-Men War came to an end.

March 5th - Carthus

An Inhuman with blue skin and a series of large, curled and spiked horns protruding from his head. Carthus was heavily involved with the Genetic Council, acting as its chancellor for two separate tenures. He was chancellor during the time that Attilan relocated from it’s initial location in Iceland to the secret mountain top in the Himalayas. He was later replaced as chancellor by Kiting, but won the seat back after the former chancellor, Arcadius, fled Attilan. Carthus maintained the position through the Silent War event; whereupon Maximus had him replaced by Carthus’ former protégé, Avia.

During his time as Chancellor of the Genetic Council, Carthus advocated for an isolationist agenda and did not agree with Black Bolt’s decision to maintain diplomatic relations with the human nations. Carthus was ardent in his beliefs regarding the philosophy of eugenics and the attempts to guide the effects of Terrigenesis via selective breeding and arranged marriages. Carthus maintained a spiritual outlook on his attitudes toward eugenics, feeling that the Inhumans faced a divine right and duty to be the superior race on Earth.

When Terrigenesis caused the young Inhuman, Dewoz, to seemingly transform into an Alpha Primitive, Carthus saw it as an atrocity and sign that the culture of Attilan had lost its way. He used the event as leverage in his advocation for the re-institutionalization of arranged marriages and mating practices.

Carthus treated young Dewoz quite poorly. Although he claimed that he would look after the youth and attend to his best interests, Carthus merely deposited Dewoz in the caverns of the Alpha Primitives and left him there to fend for himself.

Whereas Carthus objected to the emissary program to send several young Inhumans to America as a type of student exchange program, he did agree to participate in selecting which young Inhumans would be involved. Carthus demonstrated a special interest in selecting Jolen as one of these emissaries. He could see that Jolen maintained a similar animosity toward the humans and cultivated this further, insinuating to the youth that the program in and of itself was actually a first component of a long term strategy to wage war on the humans. This ultimately led to Jolen killing several humans during his time in America (murders that neither Jolen nor Carthus have yet been held accountable for).

While Black Bolt put up with Carthus’ scheming ways, his brother, Maximus, proved far less lenient. Shortly after Maximus became king at the conclusion of the Silent War event, Maximus had Carthus removed from the council and his chair as chancellor was offered to Avia. Carthus has not been seen from again and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
