bad take but. i don’t feel like the dexter ending is “justice” and “something that had to inevitably happen because he is evil” because i rlly don’t view dexter as a villain. he’s a very cool and sexy vigilante leave him alone

(the coach thing felt out of character imo. and yes he has killed a few innocent ppl which is NOT okay but otherwise? i rlly do not view him as an evil villain is this just me? is something wrong with my brain lmao)

Finished watching Dexter

8 seasons 96 episode invested 2-3 weeks and the ending tears me apart took a chunk of my soul with it

legit no one talks about Dexter anymore but I finally finished it and for what??? what was that ending??? like I get it, he's a serial killer he doesn't really get a happy ending but,,,, what was that??? the shitty way deb died and him faking his death but then being a fucking lumberjack?? for what??? ho ho ho endless life of loniless for the killer boohoo. who's the writer who actually thought that trash would be poetic? yknow what the last seasons and the build up of the show was fucking about? humanizing dexter. I mean everything he went through, each lover, each killer, each friend he made, was slowly humnanzing him. he didn't even NEED to kill in the end other than to honor deb. I'm not saying he should have escaped with Hannah and his son but he should have died. bc yknow what being a mopey loney bastard lumberjack would do to a literal psychopath? prolly revert him back to who he was in the beginning. he should have died in the weirdly humanized version he was.

I re-watched Dexter, and there’s only one thing that really upsets me about the ending

Debra being killed was really unfair. Maybe that’s childish to say but Debra deserved so much better. I understand why Dexter didn’t get a happy ending, he was a serial killer and the show shattered the idea that “Dexter gets to have a normal life” over and over again. Sending him off to be a lumberjack was fucking weird but whatever. However, what did Debra do to deserve being tossed into the ocean like so many of Dexter’s victims? I think Debra suffered the most shit out of any of the characters. If anyone deserved a “happily ever after” it was Deb.

On a side note, I still really hate Hannah.
