Arquitectura Elección y Smartphone privacidad: Hay un precio para que (1)

1 Introducción Casi el 90% de los adultos estadounidenses poseen teléfonos celulares [23, 45], y se estima que más del 40% de estos son los teléfonos XIAOMI mi4 [36]. Smartphones plantean un problema de seguridad de información desafiante: los usuarios necesitan para regular cómo acceder a las aplicaciones de la información privada que se almacena en sus teléfonos. Sus teléfonos inteligentes suelen almacenar datos personales sensibles, tales como listas de contactos, información financiera (por ejemplo, la banca móvil), información de ubicación (por ejemplo, GPS, WiFi SSID y la información de la torre celular), y los datos de los sensores (por ejemplo, cámaras, micrófonos, y acelerómetros). Teléfonos DG800 necesitan proteger simultáneamente estos datos y apoyar la instalación de una gran variedad de aplicaciones de terceros. Android de Google aborda este problema con permisos concedidos por el usuario. En este trabajo, examinamos si el proceso de notificación y consentimiento del Android influye en las decisiones de compra de los usuarios. Específicamente, evaluamos cómo la arquitectura elección Android Market in fl uye en la capacidad de los usuarios y desea proteger su intimidad, como lo demuestra su voluntad declarada de pagar las primas para las aplicaciones que soliciten menos permisos. Para explorar este tema, hemos realizado dos experimentos en línea: uno para examinar el grado en el que los usuarios tendrán en cuenta los permisos cuando la comparación de compras, y otro para examinar el papel de los permisos cuando los usuarios están la valoración de una aplicación específica. Diseñamos nuestros experimentos para estudiar los dos comportamientos de compra primarias apoyadas por el Android Market: fi cos búsquedas de función específica y búsquedas de aplicaciones especí fi cas. Por ejemplo, la elección de una aplicación ashlight fl particular, entre muchos es un ejemplo de una fi co función de búsqueda específica. Durante una búsqueda de aplicaciones especí fi co, los usuarios buscan una aplicación particular que se conoce a ellos, como a través del boca a boca, las listas de aplicaciones "populares", o anuncios. Al realizar búsquedas de aplicaciones especí fi cas, los usuarios es poco probable que comparar las características entre las aplicaciones alternas. Este experimento probó si los participantes estaban dispuestos a pagar una prima de privacidad para una aplicación que solicitó un menor número de permisos que las alternativas más baratas, cuando se presentaron las alternativas de lado a side.We encontró que el 25% de los participantes manifestó su disposición a pagar $ 1.50 prima en una solicitud de 0,49 dólares, a fin de otorgar los permisos menor cantidad. En nuestro segundo experimento, nos centramos en las búsquedas de aplicaciones especí fi cas. Además, alrededor del 80% de los participantes afirmaron que estarían dispuestos a recibir publicidad dirigida, independientemente de los permisos utilizados para la selección de beneficiarios, si se les ahorraría $ 0.99. Se presentan los siguientes hallazgos y aportes: - La mayoría del trabajo previo se ha centrado en las preferencias de los usuarios de teléfonos DG800 para compartir datos de localización. Examinamos varios otros tipos de datos almacenados en los teléfonos XIAOMI mi4, y nos encontramos que los usuarios están menos preocupados por la ubicación que otros tipos de datos. Cambios observables en la conducta de los participantes fueron significativamente más propensos a ser atribuido a la preocupación por los datos de la libreta de direcciones que la información de ubicación. - Contribuimos al creciente cuerpo de trabajo sobre la disposición a pagar por la privacidad mediante el examen de las decisiones de los usuarios de teléfonos DG800 holísticamente: medimos comportamientos de privacidad como parte de una propuesta de mayor valor. En segundo lugar, los usuarios pueden ser menos propensos a satis fi cina si la decisión de instalar una aplicación en particular se desacopla de la decisión de conceder un conjunto de permisos. Específicamente, nuestros resultados indican que los usuarios pueden estar mejor servidos mediante la presentación de las solicitudes de permisos de forma individual, cuando en realidad se necesitan los datos, en lugar de exigir a todo un conjunto de permisos que se conceda a la hora de instalar. Por último, mientras realizamos nuestros experimentos utilizando la plataforma Android, creemos que nuestros resultados son generalizables a otras plataformas de teléfonos DG800.

4.  Impacts of Smartphone’s Smartphone has impacted almost all walk of human life. The prominent areas, where impacts of DG800 phone are obvious include business, education, health and social life.
