David Gaider has left Dragon Age. I can't wrap my head around that. I mean, granted people come and go, and fuck I love Patrick Weekes because "The Masked Empire" really gripped me, especially at the start, wherein David Gaider's Asunder was at the very end. Still, it's shocking. For whatever reason (and the net and DGaider says its about a new project) shit, I am looking forward to it, but I also can't believe it. I mean... David fucking Gaider, the writer of Morrigan, witch of my heart. The two male romances in DAO... even a big chunk of Duncan. The person who wrote Cassandra fucking Seeker of my heart Pentaghast. Fenris. Orsino and Meredith. Dorian, and shit and all that.... writer of Cole in Asunder! (Although I definitely love Weekes Inquisition Cole, it's in DAI where I understood the boy more) still... What does it mean? I hope it doesn't mean past characters like idk Morrigan. Cassandra and you know, David Gaider characters won't show up again, I mean they have too, yeah because omg this is so wew. Although Patrick Weekes did write Solas too, plus Bull so equal parts heart warming and heart breaking in romance. In ME universe, he wrote that awesome techy, romance-drama loving Quarian, same with Jack, although she has a more... edgy type. Mordin, oh Mordin wonderful fucking Mordin and for me the most heartwrenching parts which is Rannoch, Tuchanka, and Dragon Age's Here Lies the Abyss. I love it. It's just wow... David Gaider. Wherever you are, i'd be waiting very (im)patiently and all for your new take in whatever Bioware would do. Another franchise to love, hopefully!

Why does no one like Gaider?

Sigh. Anyone else want to answer this? More eloquently than I could, to boot?

In 95% of the interactions I've seen happening between him and fans, Gaider has been condescending, patronizing, and unable to stop running his mouth drunk or sober. The man has, quite honestly, managed to alienate me so thoroughly hardly two words can come from him without me giving them a side-eye.

I'm exceedingly fond of Alistair and Cole and Cassandra but good lord there's a reason why his alias in the fandom is, well, that thing that it is.

Hello Everyone

I'll be posting / reposting this three times a day for four days to include the weekend. Just so everyone can see / be shared about it. :) I will delete this from the blog when I'm done with it's housecleaning.

PS. This is not complete yet because I run it on a queue (I had to quickly reblog 10 pages worth in a day, and since I run more blogs, I was running out of the 250 pages / day so I queued some of them. Queue should finish by next week.

PSS. Apart from these notices, I will not post anything of my opinion etc regarding his blogs / posts. This is literally just a place of archiving.

I just want to say what it says here, an archive of dgaider.tumblr.com 's blog. Basically there's about 80ish percent of content from his original blog. (most of which that aren't here are art from his really old pages, bec at that time I had time to filter, but as the days got nearer, I literally just reblogged everything I could.) All read-mores (as much as I think I've done) are posted properly. Links are as is - somehow. There are no tags yet, but I will finish them within February. I made this for my own use, because I was a new follower of his and have not read everything he could give insight to. So if ever though anyone else needs some references or stuff they would like to come back to, here's the place.

So yeah there. Hope you all find something good to read, and not fight about.

A lot of the complaints in the fandom annoy me so much

Because the ones harassing Gaider are basically saying that anyone who disagrees with them must be wrong and/or have no idea what they're talking about.

Like.

How dare other trans individuals not think that the way that Krem was written is trash? You'd have to be cis! I will misgender you!

How dare abuse survivors not think that Iron Bull/Dorian is abusive! You must not know what you're talking about! Rape apologist!

ETC. ETC.

Like. Omg. Grow up. Oppressed groups are not monolithic groups where you have one opinion or else you're lying about your "status" or "self-hating"!

This is kind of an issue I have with tumblr in general. "How dare you disagree!" and "No apology will make this better!" and "You fucked up once and now you're trash forever!"

And I love tumblr and think that it's taught me a lot, but jesus christ, people can change. Get over yourselves.
