Although, their plan to do just this was flawed, and by inevitable circumstance, disaster entered the home of the Winchesters out of the direct order and will of none other than Niklaus Mikaelson. Upon a cold, seemingly-usual night during Dean’s fourth year, Alexis Colt (Niklaus’ prized witch,) trespassed upon their property in an attempt to complete the task of killing each Winchester –Campbell child as they slept. Despite her best efforts to kill each boy, neither was harmed; instead, Mary Winchester was murdered due to her disruption and Alexis’ fury. Dean was ordered by his father to carry his younger brother to safety and did so without question; from then on, Dean invoked his innate instinct to protect his ‘Sammy’ at all costs and refused to ever value anyone or anything before that.

Over the years, Dean remained content with the hunting life and earnt the label of ‘valiant second’ to his father; his demeanour almost completely contrasting to Sam’s in this aspect as well as others. Whilst Dean would spend his days womanising, flattering and hunting happily, Sam would often spend them studying and attempting to diverge from his pre-ordained destiny. Eventually, Sam decided to leave both Dean and their father and he felt both betrayed and heart-broken.

After visiting his brother at Stanford in order to inform him of their father’s absence, he and Sam followed a lead in an attempt to find him but returned to Stanford without luck as well as to a dead Jessica. This was the catalyst of Sam’s ‘temporary’ return to the hunting life, as the pair of them, with their father’s journal in toe, try to find him.

Has the potential, like his brother, to become ‘One of The Five’ – but only one of them is able to become one.

Is flirtatious and alluring with an eye for a good time, but holds hunting as a priority.

and in our apartment

we have a little christmas tree sitting atop our (enormous) television set.

not long ago, a bunch of our friends came over and gave us presents, one for each of us. for the time they sat on the table, and i was reminded of the present another one of my friends gave me.

my lovely roommate elizabeth had the brilliant idea to put the packages under the tiny tree.

they now sit there.

i opened the other package -

it was a lovely hand-crocheted red heart ornament.

our tree now has four packages beneath its tiny branches and an oversized ornament for its smallness.

it's adorable.
