Drabble request from [golden-twin-pistols] "The Meeting: Rewritten"
‘Oh man, I’m so going to be late for chemistry!’
‘Mr. Reever will kill me if I don’t make it in time for the lab today!’
‘This is all big brother’s fault! If only he wouldn’t be so anal about what I wear outside the house!’
These thoughts were flying through Lenalee’s mind as she slammed her car door shut and sprinted towards the school. Today was looking like it was going to be a bad day for her, and her morning had just started! Of all the days for things to go wrong… she’d slept in late, and still had to make breakfast for herself and Komui while trying to find the keys to her brother’s car.
“Oh, Lenalee~! Thank goodness you’re awake!” Komui said as he looked sleepily up from the dining room table. Somehow his voice and body seemed to be saying two different things.
“Good morning big brother,” Lenalee responded curtly. She then proceeded to brew a pot of Komui’s favorite coffee as she ran back to her room to search for her missing shoe. With a slight twitch of his lips, Komui allowed himself to smile as he shuffled a bit in his seat, trying to keep the shoe’s hiding place from last night a secret.
“Can’t find your other shoe Lenalee? Well I guess that just means you’ll have to stay home for the day~!” Komui quietly cackled to himself at his genius scheme to keep his sister from going to school.
“No, it’s okay Komui, I’ll just wear a different pair,” Lenalee replied from the hallway, already walking back into the dining room. She quickly poured her brother a cup of coffee and added the appropriate amount of sugar and cream before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek and closing the front door.
Komui had hidden the car keys, as usual, but Lenalee had figured out where they were as she was looking for her other shoe; she was pretty sure he had something to do with that too.
Traffic was horrible, but before she knew it she was pulling into the parking lot and turning the car off. She looked at her watch and saw she had less than five minutes to get to her locker, grab her books, and be in her seat for Mr. Reever’s class.
‘If I take the side entrance, I can make it for sure!’ Lenalee thought, reassuring herself that she wasn’t that unlucky.
Until she turned the corner and tripped over some guy’s legs sticking out haphazardly. Despite her hurry, she stopped just long enough to say “I’m so sorry!” and was about to take off again, until the dark-haired boy spat “Watch where the fuck you’re going! Stupid ass bitch…”
That’s when she lashed back; she’d been through a good deal of trouble and quite enough hassle this morning, she wasn’t in the mood to hear any lip.
“What the hell is your problem? I said I was sorry, no need to be a dick about it. It’s your fault for having your feet sticking out in the walk way,” Lenalee snapped back. "So you should be the one apologizing.”
His amazing green eyes were narrowing dangerously as the blonde standing next to him continued to look on with his own equally amazing blue eyes at the exchange going on between his brother and the random girl. Suddenly, Debi’s foot swung out in a knee-jerk reaction and kicked the dark-haired girl in the stomach, effectively knocking her back on her rear. He was beyond enraged, and his eyes showed it.
“Fuck you. I won’t apologize to some two-cent whore…”
Lenalee didn’t hear anything after that, and didn’t really want to. Knowing she would be late for class at this point anyways, she decided she was going to have it out with the ravenette, right here, right now. She wouldn’t drag the blonde into this; after all, he didn’t do anything to her, but neither did he try to stop anything from happening.
So, right as both the twins had turned around, she swiftly got up and grabbed a textbook from her messenger bag, giving the dark-haired boy a good smack with it. By the sound he made, Lenalee felt proud of herself. The blonde looked over at his brother in shock and shrieked “Debi!” At the blonde's reaction though, she felt conflicted and grimaced slightly.
The ravenette whipped his head around to deliver a death glare to the girl who had so blatantly and remorselessly attacked him. Within a second, he was on top of her, straddling her body and keeping her arms pinned beneath his legs. One of his hands was pressed against her mouth, as the other pulled out his pocketknife.
“Debi! Don’t!” the blonde pleaded with his brother, looking on anxiously.
“I’m going to make you wish you had never ran into me,” Debi whispered dangerously low into Lenalee’s ear as his eyes flashed with a dark, almost sadistic, implication.
Fortunately, for the blonde and the girl, the bell rang, causing Debi to look up at the school with exasperation.
“Next time, I recommend you learn who you are fucking dealing with before you try anything, bitch,” he threatened, closing the blade. As he stood, he glanced back at the girl, giving her a sinister scowl. “You have guts, I’ll give you that…stupid bitch.”
With that, the twins walked away as Lenalee stood and fixed her slightly rumpled outfit. She quickly ran her hands over her hair to smooth it down as much as possible, then took off towards the science wing.
‘There’s no way Mr. Reever will believe me…’
