Warning: Angst. Kinda toxic behaviour from Jace, not going to lie. Controlling behaviour. Controlling touches, but NO Violence (I don't know if this would be considered soft angst in this case...)

You know, I think having Jacaerys mad would be scarier than having Aemond mad. Because Aemond is always just a little bit mad. Jacaerys is always more pulled together.
The knowledge that Aemond could, at every instant, blow a fuze would be a good incentive to not play with the last of his patience, resulting in a relatively peaceful relationship, if inwardly frustrating. But it’s better that than loose everything for something dumb like not wearing the clothes Aemond choose for you that night. Right?
With Jacaerys, I feel that Jewel could lose their temper and he would be calm, Jewel could go against a warning that he’d given them, and he’d just huff, frustrated, but wouldn’t even raise his voice.
However, under the right (or wrong) amount of multiple things happening at the same time, Jace could be frightfully angry. And it’s be more scary because it’s not something that Jewel would expect.
It had been petty. Idiotic, really.
Everything was overwhelming lately, with the chaos of battles growing closer and closer every day. You’d just wanted to escape it, if only for an hour. And you’d thought that, if you took a walk with Rhaena and the little Targaryen children along with a bunch of guards (and without involving Jace who’d very clearly informed you that going outside of the castle grounds would be a bad idea at the moment) well, everything would be a bit better. A change of scenery couldn't hurt, right? Plus, what Jace doesn’t know can’t hurt him! Unfortunately, with the tension growing within Dragonstone like a sponge slowly drinking the water of its bucket, until it couldn’t contain the liquid anymore, the news of your little escapade was bound to get back to Jace’s ears. You just didn’t expect it to be so quick, or so triggering.
Jace’s anger was like that. Like liquid fire oozing from him in an aura, fire illuminating his dark pupil in a way you’d only seen once before.
He came into your shared room without a sound, closing the door behind him quietly before turning you to face him. Your cheeks still stinging from the cold ocean wind you'd face during your walk. The strength with which he’d done so had got you quiet.
“Sit.” He managed to creak out, voice mixing with Vermax’. And despite the warmth that poured out from your mate, an icy chill ran down your spine as you obeyed his order. For if it had been uttered softly, it still had been an order.
“I told you not to go out.”
You debated if Jace wanted an answer or if he was to continue speaking, but after a brief moment of silence, he raised an eyebrow. The shadow inside his eyes seemingly growing more intense with each passing seconds you stood quiet. This prompted you to speak.
“I was with Rhaena.”
“And Rhaena is known to have mastered her dragon.” He agreed with a cold sarcasm, no rush to his words. Too calmly. The tail resting on the ground behind him, eerily still for something you were so used to see wagging lazily from side to side.
“We had knights with us.” You added again, feeling like you were walking deeper into quicksand with each words escaping your mouth. Yet, the words fell out, your tone not even affected by the terrified chill covering every inch of your skin.
One of Jace’s hands came to rest on your shoulder for a moment, before his index and forefinger made their way under your chin, making you look up into his eyes. You’d been avoiding them since you sat.
“I told you not to go out.” He repeated, this time pressing the last word of his sentence, the warmth of his finger on your skin making you recoil, but he stopped you, his hand engulfing your lower jaw easily, bringing your face back to it’s original position. For a moment, you thought back to his claws, eyes darting down to his fingers for a split second before a sharp, shaky breath wracked your body as you inhaled.
“You did.” Acknowledging your fault was probably the best course of action right now.
“And you went anyway.” He stated in the same unhurried tone as before, the anger in his gaze, his stature, not diminishing in the least. A shaky breath escaped you as your forced yourself to react as calmly as possible. Jace would not hurt you (probably).
“Yes.”
The feeling of his talons, grazing the skin of your jaw, had you close your eyes, the warmth of Jace hand now bordering a burning sensation against your face and the strength with which he held you in place had you realise just how strong he was, compared to you. The sting of tears lingered down to your nose as you tried to keep your eyes from watering as you opened them again.
“When I tell you something is dangerous. I expect that you’d be sensible enough not to do it the second my back is turned.” The prince cocked his head to one side. “Am I being understood?”
You nodded soundlessly. Which was the wrong answer, because his hand let go of your jaw, only to clamps down on your arms, forcing you to raise on your feet again.
“I said; Am. I. Being. Understood.” He repeated in a cold tone, contrasting eerily with the lava-like temperature radiating from him. Each words well enunciated, separated from the last by a barely noticeable pause. But it was so unusual for Jace to be this slow while speaking that you had no choice but to notice.
“Yes, Jacaerys.” The stutter in your answer was humiliating, just has your hesitation at the name you should use in this situation was. You held your head low, with shame, guilt, terror, all at once, you couldn’t really make sense of all that you were feeling.
“Good.”
Jace let go of your arm, wrapping himself around you, with his tail, his wings, his strong arms locking behind your back, encircling your hips like he always did. Out of habit, you wrapped your arms around his neck. After a second, the boiling temperature simmered down to Jace’s usual.
Okay silly idea, since Jace/Vermax likes to hoard jewels, I feel like Vermax would have his own cave on Dragonstone full of his trinkets. When he finally sees his mate, he takes them there and just showers them in jewels. All in dragon form.
Omg, YES!!
Also, hi Anon💎!! 🤭 Btw this is not the same as when Jewel came back from her family for some wedding and a baby shower. It’s another time either before or after.

Jace had retreated into himself, as the two months you’d gone back to your family extended to three, then four, and now nearly five months. Leaving Vermax in charge of their overall survival.
And Vermax had grown too big for Jacaerys’ room. He’d relocated to his favourite little grotto on the island, his magnificent and shiny cave full of magnificent and shiny little baubles and trinkets. And while Vermax couldn’t fill the empty space your absence had left in their chest, he could fill his cave with more jewels in the meantime. Especially now that he’d found a(n abandoned) ship some way away from Dragonstone, still filled with shinies.
How was he to resist, truly?
But today, Vermax was lazily flying in wide circles over the Dragonstone’s castle, wondering what to do with himself. He had no interest in laying about in-between two emerald filled walls, glancing up at glittering baubles made out of rich metals and pretty stones. He'd grown tired of counting and recounting all his historical (or so said the little one in his head) shiny pieces, and decorating the cave a new time was all but discouraging at the moment.
Vermax was about to shot up to leave for the high sea when he spotted a tinie-tiny spot moving on the sea’s horizon. And whilst dragon’s do not have interest in timetables or any other list of the kind, this dragon thought curiously if it could be possible your ship would’ve been scheduled for today.
He didn’t care enough to let the little one know. Not yet. Vermax had neither the patience, nor strength to deal with a saddened Jacaerys, as it would only add to his morose attitude. But he still flew toward the little ship that grew larger with each flaps of his wings.
Beneath him, the waves of the sea parted with the blow of air Vermax pushed down to fly above the water, creating waves of his own, battling against the natural ones fending towards shore. And the further he flew, the further Vermax could make out the sigil of your house floating above, a stark contrast against the cloud-filled sky.
A screech, between the wail of a whale and the song of a very large bird, left Vermax’s throat. A sound that echoed against the wall of the sea and the one of the heavy clouded sky. The dragon fended the sky, height to let himself drop with an acrobatic when spotted your little form standing on the deck, waving furiously in his direction. Vermax screeched again.
Once he reached your boat, Vermax dropped himself low enough to reach for you catching you between his back paws. His awkward grip on you made Vermax reconsider flying toward the dock, and he veered toward the rocky part of the island, the closest part now.
‘What are you doing??’ The little one’s voice boomed through Vermax’s consciousness, and his wings faltered a bit and he tipped dangerously closer to the waters.
‘Hush.’ He growled, the sound rumbling through the air, and he Vermax felt you grasp at his legs thighet, and he dropped his head momentarily to look at you from one eye before looking inward again.
You were there. He had you. You were safe. And like the crown upon the head of a mighty ruler, you were enduring the challenge. His perfect jewel, a true diamond in the rock. Having soothed the little one, Vermax continued flying toward his secret not so secret cave, where he knew you’d be left alone for a while. The sea breeze felt cold against its scales, and Vermax practically heard his heart, their heart, break when he thought of how cold you must be, clutched awkwardly between his hind legs, probably from the little one. Which was a nonsense he promptly shut down.
The opening of his cave grew closer, and Vermax’s started to decelerate. Taking on the opening in full swing alone was one thing, but with his little Jewel hanging from him, the dragon would not chance it.
Vermax’s cave was a sight worthy of dragon’s legends. The, albeit rare today, sun shone through it’s opening and thousand of diamonds and golden objects reflected it’s light. The dragon had taken care to dispose his cave in a manner that would be pleasing to all. You’d been brought there before, and Vermax had always been proud to show you where (to him) you truly belonged: at the very top of his hoard. The preciousest of all his shiny trinkets.
Hitting the ground, Vermax made sure to not squash you. He felt your hand run against his abdomen belly, the highest you could reach, all the way until you stood in front of him. Clothes crumpled by the wind, lacking the riches Vermax was so used to see you in habitually, and it displeased him greatly. A soft growl, deep and so unlike him echoed against the walls, making the numerous suspended baubles ornamenting the cave began to shake with the sound. His nose brushed against your belly, and he sighed harshly against the fabric covering you, trying to convey his displeasure.
“Hush. You big baby. You caught me before I could make myself presentable to you.”
Vermax heard how you hesitated to name him, still unsure about whom was piloting the body, still under trained to recognized Jace from himself. It was but a small matter to him. Your hand on the front of his head brought him comfort nonetheless. The void in his chest quietly filling with your scent at every breath Vermax took, and another little sound escaped him, between a sigh and a purr.
Something was bothering him, still. Your stature, your worth was not shining through with the plain sailing clothes that you wore, and with a second rumble, Vermax parted with you. Using his nose to search around the multiple piles of his hoard to find something that would translate your importance. He threw pieces of clothing and multiple accessories for you to take from, picking carefully each gifts to offer you. You cold only have the best of the best. And Vermax was proudly the owner of everything that was best.
“Isn’t this a piece of armor?” Your laughter reverbated against the emerald covered walls of the cave, making the dragon’s head perked up, turning in your direction again as you raised and old, bronze made shoulder piece from a long decimated and now forgotten civilization. The dragon’s gaze eyed you up and down, as if to say : ’That’s what you stop yourself on?’ before he went back to foraging into his hoard.

Aemond:
He was distracted. A feat in itself because Aemond rarely let weakness show around the public. Especially during combat training. But he was, and everybody could see it. The way his gaze would scale the rock wall of the courtyard in search of something -no- someone, and the scowl on his face every time he found it, them.
You.
Smiling, shining you, talking to somebody he cared not to learn about, completely oblivious to the work he was doing to show you just how perfect a mate he could be. How fierce he could project and defend you. No. Instead you were being polite (he knew how to read your smiles by now) to someone who clearly didn’t get the message. Or was foolish enough to think they could take you away from him.
Aemond knew you would never betray him in such a way. Either because your affection for him was true (he still wasn’t wholly sold on that one) or because you could only gain from your relations with him, tarnishing your name would not be a good thing for you, or your family. No, Aemond was not scared of your betrayal so much as he angered against the person stealing your attention away from him.
A growl pushed passed his lips, teeth elongating to become fangs. He could feel his usual control over the shift to Vaghar’s for slipping away from him, letting dark scales creep up the skin of his neck and slowly covering his lower jaw.
How would the taste of this person’s blood on his tongue would be sweet, he could only imagine. The sword in his hands started to sizzled under his grip. Aemond would toy wit them, before ending it. Make them know how the extend of his wrath for taking something that wasn’t theirs. Taking something of his away from him.
“Prince Aemond?”
Ser Criston’s voice took the prince from his dark thoughts, bringing him back to the reality, standing once more in the courtyard, a now bent sword between his hands.
“From the start.” The one-eyed prince requested, placing himself in a offensive stance. He could always terrorize the stealer of his Quelos’ attention later.
Jacaerys:
“Jewel…” He whined into your neck for the second time in five minutes, his arms wrapped around your middle, like a youngling to it’s mother. Behind him, his tail was slithering around, only sign of his profound annoyance toward the current situation.
“A moment.” You pleaded quietly, once again, as his younger half-sibling showed you yet another of their (quite boring) toys. Jace swallowed another whine.
His day, the only one as of yet where he could get out of his duties and studies early, had not ended as he wanted it. You had spent your free time entertaining his younger siblings, and showed no regret in making him wait. Not that he had much planned, anyway. But he wanted to feel your arms around him, your lips against his, your body close to his. Alone.
“Jewel, the nursemaid can take over…” He pleaded softly again, lips brushing against the sensitive skin of your neck in an attempt to encourage you to follow him.
‘The hatchlings should be removed.’ Came the angry snarl of Vermax in Jace’s mind. The warmth of envy was coming to a slight simmer inside of his chest, as he pushed Vermax’s thoughts away. There was no (logical) competition between Jace and his younger siblings. They didn’t know better than to want your attention. And he couldn’t blame them for it. Logically. But Vermax did not usually take logic into consideration when it concerned his mate, only instincts were considered for that matter.
Behind him, his tail had taken a mind of it’s own, going from right to left and curling in between the movements. Jacaerys felt you lean against his chest more and realised that the growl he thought controlling, was actually escaping quietly from his throat.
“Five more minutes.” You pleaded, your eyes looking into his with a shine that Jace could not resist, accepting defeat, he leaned his chin against your shoulder once more, finding contempt in having you in his arms.
At least for five more minutes.
Laenor:
Laenor prided himself at his lack of jealousy.
That’s what he told himself, anyway. But the truth was that he had no control, whatsoever on Seasmoke’s control of their emotions. So, Laenor himself was quite mellow when it came to you and other people, but Seasmoke was a creature of greed. And Laenor was not in the habits to share, either.
He had explicit confidence in you and your loyalty to him. Never would you act against him and his emotions, breaking truth and heart in the same beat. He would’ve never left his mark on you otherwise. But the fact that his political marriage had swept your existence has his partner to non-existent led people to believe that you were open to claims. And that, to Seasmoke, was unacceptable.
And so you found yourselves in a position such as this; one of his hands wrapped around your neck, keeping you still whilst he let himself plunged into your warmth. His other hand mapping your body as if he were an explorator surveilling new territory. His teeth grazes the the skin his hand didn’t cover, coloring it with purple bruises that you would have difficulties hiding.
“Not to high!” You panted, fingers tugging at his hair, trying to pull him away, bring his attention somewhere else for even a second. “People will see-” A gasp interrupted your sentence as Laenor bucked deeper into you, finding the spot that usually made you loose your mind.
“I don’t care.” He growled in response, leaving your neck to devour your lips now. Maybe they’ll learn to to undress you with their eyes if they see the marks I leave on you.” His tone was smug.
No, Laenor was not jealous. But he made no effort to correct Seasmoke thinking when you were concerned.

It’s a quick, rushed wedding. Much to Jace’s annoyance. He would’ve loved to provide Jewel with a crowd, the biggest feast imaginable and luxuries in insulting quantities. But there’s a war that threatens your days of peace and Jacaerys would be damned if he cannot be married to Jewel and called them (truly) his before he’s obligated to act as heir to his mother and leave for who-knows-where, again. He would like to marry you in the traditional way of his people, but would be so pleased to introduce aspect of your followed religion to the ceremony.
Walking up, alone, on the pebbles of the beach, following the path that leads you to your future husband, who’s back is turned for the moment, you took a breath. Filling your hest with the salty air of the sea, letting the crashing waves take over the thundering of your heart inside your head.
You’re marrying Jace.
The thought still sound foreign to you. Dreamy, even. And you creep closer, timing your steps with each waves that crashes on the soft pebbles of the shore with regular intervals. Your stomach tightens, and feels on the verge of dropping… somewhere. Taking another deep breath to try and keep the black sheep from overcoming your visual field, rolling your shoulders to gain confidence, 'I look ridiculous,' is all you can think about. Rhaenyra, crowned with what looks to be an iron coiffe stands tall, overwatching the ceremonie she will be leading. There’s a small smile on her lips that eases (somewhat) the burning panic inside your veins.
As you get closer, you can see the shake that keeps agitating Jaces shoulders. Either it’s the nerves, or he’s fighting with Vermax not to turn around and look at you, you cannot be certain. It reassuring to see your betrothed act so human, however. And it makes a smile bloom on your face. The scene is even grander than what you'd imagine it would be.
“I want Mother to marry us.” He’d proclaimed some nights ago, not nearly long enough to make the details fuzzy in your mind. You were laying in bed, his face had been nuzzled in the crook of your neck seconds before he spoke, your fingers raking through his too-long curls. The smell of honey was floating in the room as bee's wax candles burned for light, sole source of it now, as sticky warmth had overtaken the Isle with the coming of summer. The words had taken you aback, stilling your hand, making you pull away from the boy's - man now- embrace.
Sure, you knew you would be marrying Jace, one day. It had never really been a question of if, but more of when, after all. But he’d never approached the subject unprompted before. Never without a warning, or a swift, smooth comment leading to it first. It’s was alway the same; he would initiate intimacy, gentle touches, leading to kisses, ending in passion. This, however, was completely different.
“If you wish it.”
“I do.” He responded, looking up, his eyes searching yours. “I wish for her to marry us. Soon.”
That had one of your eyebrow raise. Jace had just come back from weeks away. Still humid from his bath and naked from your rekindling. “Once your mother as secured her crown, we shall ask her.”
But your proposition hadn’t pleased Jace like you thought it would. He hissed and nuzzled against your neck again, pressing his lips to your ear. “Sooner. Before that. I want to marry you now. Call you mine, and have you truly be it.”
“Is this how I shall be asked? Naked in your bed, filthy with our spend? I thought you a romantic, Jacaerys.” You’d teased him softly, tugging at his hair, just so, to make him groan the way you liked. You could feel his hardness spring back to life slowly against your thighs.
“I will ask better tomorrow. With presents and a fanfare. Have confettis be thrown.” He professed, leaving a trail of fiery hot kisses down your neck.
You’d laughed.
And now, you stood, a mear two feet behind Jace, his mother looking at you both, her regal attire seeming more intimidating now than ever. You could feel your knees shake, unsteady feet making their way, wobbling, to your prince.
“Here comes your betrothed, delivered by the sea.” Announced Rhaenyra to Jace. There was nobody else on the beach but Daemon, Baela and Rhaena. The younger children too young to be left trusted not to disturbed the ceremony. You had been the one to request the sea to deliver you. Both to represent how you’d come to Jace everytime you came back, but also to keep his father, Laenor, included. You’d seen his eyes shimmer with emotions when you explained why. You had not commented on it.
The Valyrian traditions where foreign to you. And Rhaenyra was talking in high Valyrian for the ceremony. Jace was looking proud, his wings folded behind his back, shoulders square and back taught. A shine in his eyes as he glanced at your form hinted at the emotions he might be feeling. A small knife was presented to you, breaking the moment. You looked down at the blade, blinking once before Jace took it in his hands.
“I shall cut your lips, and you’ll do the same to me.” He whispered softly, lips barely moving as he placed the black blade’s tip on the middle of your lower lip, and punctured the flesh, dragging the cold material of dragonglass until Jace was satisfied with his work. The dagger twirled between his fingers before he offered it to you, once more.
It was heavy in your hands, but you followed his example, finding the upmost up on his lower lip, piercing the flesh and opening a wound until it reached the upmost down. You lowered the blade again, eyes unable to move away from the blood dripping from his mouth, then in a flash, your gaze met his and you searched Jace’s face for a clue.
He smiled, Rhaenyra spoke, in high Valyrian, again, and Jace took the blade from your hands before pressing its sharp end to his thumb. He smeared some of the blood to his forehead, and repeated the gesture on yours.
‘Valyrian traditions are messy,’ was the only thing floating through your mind when you watched as Jace cut his hand again, his palm, and reaching for your hand, opening a small wound there too. He pressed his injured hand to your injured hand and gave the dragonglass dagger back to his mother. She smiled, and spoke again, words gibberish to your ears.
“We will pledge, just say the words we practiced.” Whispered Jace again, stepping closer to you now, your hand stung, your lips was throbbing, and felt otherwise numb, but you nodded nonetheless.
“Han lantoti anogar.” You both said, your voice much lower than Jace, but still present for those you truly listened.
The sound of the sea kissing the shore felt like a balm on your raw nerves, each salty breath you took as the words spoken sprouted out of your lips, easier to take than the last. “Van syndroti vaedroma.”
Rhaenyra bounded your hands together, black, red and gold silk covering the bleeding hand of her son and you. Now woven in a strong embrace, protected from anything that could try and destroy this bond you now shared. “Mero perzot gihoti.”
Blood dripped from your linked hands, running down your intertwined fingers, staining the silk, marking the pebbles of the beach, witness to the love contract being made on it. Rhaenyra offered you a cup of red wine, which you took. “Eledroma iarza sir, izuli ampa perzi.”
And with Jace encouraging nod, his smile growing as if the cut on his lips wasn’t throbbing, you took a gulp of the liquid. The alcohol burning through the open wound of your mouth, but you forced your face to stay neutral. He was fast to take the cup from you and sip his wine too, before giving the cup back to his mother.
“Prumi ianti seteksi hen jeny mazalarion, quelossa ozundessi…” Jace took a step closer to you, leaning his forehead against your, his voice dropping to a quieter tone, quiet enough to hear your voice echo his promises. His eyes dropped to watch your lips moving with each words you professed.
“Syndroro ono jedo. Ry kivia mazvestraksi.”
You’d barely finished the words when Jace’s lips covered yours, kissing you liked he’d never done before. His free hand coming to cup your cheek, his wings flailing behind him, and the tail he’d kept hidden all during the ceremony was now sawing behind him like the tail of a happy dog.
You heard a chorus of gags, and the unmistakable crystalline sound Rhaenyra's giggle next to you following them. The bind holding both of your injured hands together dropped when Jace, or maybe Vermax at this point, tugged to free himself from it, wrapping his arm around your middle to push his chest against yours, a purr rumbling through him, calming the remnant of nervosity that pulsed through you. Bloody hand gripping your clothes, but you couldn't bring yourself to care.
*
As soon as Jace could manage it, the both of you eclipsed yourselves to your shared quarters. His hands had never left you since the exchange of kisses made on the beach. And now that people where celebrating your union with food and wine to distract them from your disappearance, it was hard to feel bad about it now.
“It feels like a dream.” Jace whispered, closing the doors behind you with one hand, his nose buried in the juncture of your neck. “Having you completely mine. Being completely yours.” He trails the last of his sentence, words forgotten as your hand, the uninjured one, raked through his hair.
“Might feel like this for a while.” Your tone was soft, playful.
Jace needn’t to know that you felt the same way. Has if the whole day had been a blur, and you still felt like walking upon clouds. He needed to bet let to feel his emotions. Shivers sprung from your lower back when Jace’s teeth grazed the skin of your jaw. His taloned hands running down the ceremonial clothes you still adorned.
“You looked perfect. But they’ll be prettier on the floor.” He purred against the column of your throat.
“Cheeky.” You teased him, pulling away from his embrace, stepping closer to the bed, already undoing the laces keeping the fit together. a growl echoed through the room when your shoulders appeared from under the fabric.
Jacaerys made quick work of shortening the distance keeping you from him, glueing his chest to your back, letting the tips of his fingers trace the scars on your back. Old mistake, injuries of passion. You didn’t let him think about them too much, turning to face him, you pull him even closer by his shirt. Raising an eyebrow.
“Shall I be the only one naked?” You asked, voice barely above a whisper.
There was a gleam in Jace’s eyes, and he smirked.
“You’re not naked, yet, my Jewel.” He reminded you before molding his lips to yours once more.
