Urban #myths about #jahajbari is something that every #Dhakaite has heard. A popular one is that the house belonged to Sher-e-Khwaja, a self-styled holy man and philanthropist who had amassed a huge fortune no one knew quite how, and who was rumored to have influential international political connections. It was said to have 40 bedrooms and not much activity was ever noticed within the premises of the house. Even though popularly known as jahajbari, the building was named "Chishtia Palace" by the owner.
