Basic Diabetic Background
Diabetes is a disease in which the body is unable to properly use and store glucose. Glucose will back up in the bloodstream causing blood glucose to rise too high. There are two type of diabetes type 1 and type 2. In type 1 diabetes, the body stops producing insulin, a hormone that enables glucose to be used as energy. In type 2 diabetes, the body still produce insulin but they are unable to use it properly or they don’t produce enough insulin.
