Process is key. What I “get out of” writing - my true motivation to write - I should get by performing the process itself (participation) , and not by whatever fate the result suffers.  I write as a practical way of maintaining a type of lucidity. I write to inscribe myself in my immediate, personal world a, and not to escape from it. By using certain methods, I can induce this altered state of consciousness (a hypersensitivity, a literate animism that puts me in direct conversation with every object around me) - at will. It enriches my experience and gives meaning to my immediate existence - the way context focuses the meaning of a word.   I describe a chair aloud, the way it sits and looks, and suddenly realize that these words are not “mine”, but the chair itself speaking to me. we make each other conscious by encountering each other.  If I am not consciously picking words from your immediate vicinity, I got them from somewhere else, and when the origin is lost, flung free from any concrete referent or object, I am proceeding unaware; a sleepwalker.
