😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?

madelyne pryor. and it’s.....to be honest his own fault mostly. he 21 at best and was grieving for his dead fiancee. he had his whole life planned out for 10 minutes and jean died and with her, a good chunk of his hopes and dreams. i think he lost a lot of faith in himself and the world when she died, stopped believing in any sense of justice. and he was honestly just spiraling.
what he needed was methods to cope but what he threw himself into another relationship because he wanted to have that life he planned for. i don’t think he was in love with madelyne at all, he was in love with jean and the memory of jean. so it wasn’t totally fair to marry her and do his whole runaway romance shtick but at the same time too.....she was a genetically manufactured jean clone made specifically by his worst enemy so that he would fall in love with her.
tldr; he really just fell into that trap because he was suffering so intensely and didn’t have anywhere to put all this love he felt for jean. but he and maddie didn’t work because he was still in love with jean. she wanted different things, she didn’t want him to be an x-man and thats such a core part of scott’s self identity and life he couldn’t cut it out. they were doomed from the start.
