Xavier’s Mansion was a little intimidating. Karen had never been ashamed about admitting fear, it was a natural part of life, and the way mutants had been portrayed in the media wasn’t kindly. It was in order to breed fear. Naturally, she wanted to end that stigma, but in order to do so, she had to confront her own fears bred from years of paranoia. Taking a deep breath as she was escorted to Emma’s office by a woman by the name of Betsy, definitely not a secretary, she thanked her before entering. Clutching her notepad a little tighter, Karen smiled at Emma and held out her hand. “My name is Karen Page, and we discussed doing a story on you for the Bulletin?” Manners were key, especially with a woman of Emma’s reputation.
Admittedly, Karen had researched Emma Frost extensively before reaching out to meet with her. From what she had read, Emma’s reputation was mixed, but the White Queen was now among the X-Men’s finest. She was powerful, regal, and she had spent years as a socialite. Karen could handle this, she had handled scarier in the past, and as she sat down across from Emma, she felt her breathing steady. She was professional, and the X-Men had helped society, never hindered it. It was time for all of New York and hopefully all of the world to realize that.
