Abd Al-Uzza (Abu Lahab) the uncle of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was a man of great looks therefore he was called Abu Lahab - the father of the flames of red on account of his beautiful red cheeks and fiery, crimson face. But after the open preaching of Islam, he became on of the biggest enemies against the deen; he abused the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and was the first to mock and reject the message, alongside his wife who caused much turmoil in the life of Nabi. Allah revealed 'Sura'tul Lahab' and the meaning of his name changed, this 'red' now indicated the redness of the fire! Wa'la Hawla Wa'La quwata ila Bila'hil alaleeyul Azheem. His death was that cysts exploded all over his body, he became so ill and his body was in the most terrible of states' his family left his body to rot for three days as they could not stand to go near it. They hired some abyssinian labour workers to dig his grave but even then they could not withstand the stench of the smell. They threw him into his grave using a pole, I shudder to think of the state he is going to meet Allah تعالى. SURELY THEY DID NOT BELIEVE SO HELLFIRE IS THEIR ETERNAL ABODE. "Perished be the two hands of Aby-Lahab and he is already perished. His wealth and what he earned availed him not. Now he enters into a blazing fire, and his wife too, carrier of firewood. There is a rope of palm fiber in her neck." [Chapter 111:Al-Lahab
