The suddenness of a voice in the gardens caused Violet to startle, eyes lifting from her needlework to rest upon the welcome sight of Lady Danbury entering from the porch. A smile curved onto the younger woman's lips, eager for some company in the long stretch of the afternoon -- It did get rather lonely out here sometimes.
"Lady Danbury. What a lovely surprise," she greeted, gesturing for her to take a seat. "I had not expected to see you until the ball this evening."
