The unpredictability. You know what I'm talking about. I'm cruising along just fine, my carb:insulin ratio is great. My correction ratio works great. Then suddenly, my sugars start dropping 3 hours after meals, when my insulin is supposed to be finished acting. And I'm not just talking it dropped one or two, I mean hardcore crashing from 10 mmol/l to full blown hypo in a matter of minutes. Yesterday, after a day of hypoing and rebounding (gotta love that) all over the place, I ended up on 27 mmol/l right before dinner. That works wonders on your appetite... I took my usual correction dose, and my bolus for dinner. 2 hours later, I was still sitting at 20. All I could think was how that just couldn't be right, but I sure as hell after a day of hypos wasn't going to take more insulin. An hour later, I crashed. Thanks, pancreas, for being the useless twat that you are.
