His question had her smiling not the usual playful, almost knowing smile that often rests on Vivian’s lips, but a genuine, almost endeared on instead. For all that she and Rae were open with each other, they weren’t always the best at voicing their feelings; certainly not in such a blunt way, one that left no room for doubt about their intentions. “That’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me,” she couldn’t help but joke, but the look in her eyes made it clear she was but jesting, that at the end of the day, she wanted the same thing as him.
Her hand settled on the back of his neck, gently tugging him forward to close the distance between them. The way their lips meat wasn’t impulsive, but deliberate. There was no hesitation in her kiss, in the gentle curve of her lips as they formed a smile against his. “I think we got a nice audience for that one.” Her voice was quiet, her tone audibly playful. “But if you’d like to give it another go...”
