The three things a college student would grab in a fire will most likely consist of textbooks, laptops, and that one personal item. But it still might be replaced with something like their backpack with notes and a TI-84 calculator. Cellphone and ID cards are a given.
someone set off the fire alarm in my dorm building so I've taken refuge in the library where they rent out laptops till closing time.
may I just note that as the alarm went off (and I knew it wasn't a drill because those happen late at night to assure a majority of tenants are in the building) I waited a good five minutes to insure the sprinklers didn't go off on my textbooks and laptop and I also covered them with my rain jackets just incase.
like I wasn't worried about my life, the possibility of a real fire eating me up. I was fucking worried about my textbooks worth over $1000 and my $300 laptop. College morals.
