& DIDNTMEANIIT.
she just can’t take a joke. looming nerves were once swept back with a mellow demeanor-- the check of manicured tips && a roll of eyes. but now beth is GONE, too--- clawed by snow covered tracks. two hours pass && not a peep, just the continuous blizzard && death bitten winds.
josh’s tone RIPPLES chills down her spine, causes her to take a step back. this wasn’t her intention, didn’t MEAN for any of this. it was just some half-baked prank, an innocuous tease && a simpering grin to match. but it rebounds like a perfectly aimed bullet right between her eyes. && now she trembles like a sheep, doesn’t want to admit that she’s has a hefty bounty to pay.
❛ --- going to look for them is a... dumb idea, josh. more of us could get lost. ❜ crystal hues falter && weary bones shiver at the thought of his twisted countenance. she’s sorry, she’s so, so, sorry. jess wishes she never did this, wishes they could have all sipped hot chocolate around a cozy fire. ❛ we should... just leave the cops to find them. i’m sure they’ll be back soon. ❜ denial drips from blood smeared tongue, lithe fingertips picking at the hem of emerald cashmere. at least, she prays they’ll return soon, to return without a scratch etched upon flesh. they’ll find them... they HAVE to.
