sissi is dead

Word had spread quickly throughout the school. The Principle's daughter was found dead. Yumi and the others had never been on friendly terms with the girl but they would never wish her dead.

Nor would they expect to miss the girl as much as they had. Sure she had been a pain in the ass numerous times, but Yumi grew to knew it all to be an act. She was hiding the sensitive, caring part of her that Yumi herself had seen on numerous occasions.

And now she was gone.

The mood among the school was somber even after the memorial service. The group didn't say much, having an inkling that it had been the result of a XANA attack and a return trip that erased all physical evidence of the what had happened to the girl, save her corpse.

No one would ever know, it would forever be one of those cases left unsolved. No matter how much Mr. Delmas pleaded, asking for tips, the group remained quiet. They knew, but they couldn't tell. It was the worst kind of hell they'd ever known.

"What the hell are you talking about?!" she screamed at the voice, the faceless being that spoke to her. Killed William? How was that even possible?

Check your hands Ishiyama. You'll see.

Ever so-slowly her eyes moved to her hands, a knife clutched tightly within. Caked in blood. Some dry, some still dripping off the metal blade. With a scream she dropped it and jumped away from it as if it had been a poisonous snake. It might have well been for all she cared.

"W-W-William?" She whispered into the darkening forest. Night had fallen already? When had that happened? Why couldn't she remember that? A shadowy figure laid in front of her and cautiously Yumi approached. "Hey if this is some sort of joke..."

Her words died in the air and her mouth hung agape, unable to believe what she had seen. William's lifeless body lying there, eyes wide, mouth open. Blood pooled underneath his body. Gaping wounds could still be seen even in the dark. A perfect fit to the knife she'd been holding.

How do you like our work Ishiyama? Oh we had so much fun with him! I cannot wait until we get the others. 

The corruption's laughter melded with her screams as she backed away, tears streaming down her face and her running steps crashing through the otherwise silent forest.

Hiroki (Xiraxhiroki) is dead

Of course disbelief was the first emotion that she felt. The alternate of her kid-brother, the one who had saved her when she'd been kidnapped by his enemies and who had kept herself from taking her own life....no. No, it wasn't true.

"How?" her voice trembled as she spoke, biting her tongue from screaming about how it was a lie. Sure she hadn't known his alter very long but still, it was an alter of Hiroki. Yumi didn't need to know him long to know him.

Her body shook in rage and in sadness. Even her voice trembled as she spoke. The girl had an idea what had happened. And it wouldn't go unnoticed. She balled her hands into fists and stormed away.

William is dead.

"You're wrong," Denial allowed her face to remain expressionless, allowed her to keep up the belief that William was alright. "You're so wrong. He's too strong...he wouldn't die that easily."

She ignored the words of her classmates, the whispers, the memorial, all of it. They were all wrong. William wasn't dead. They were foolish for clearing his things out. What was he going to say when he came back and found all of his things gone? Yumi laughed out loud in the middle of class. He was going to be so pissed.

They flew her out for his funeral, thinking that she'd fall for their trick. But she laughed at them again. Well they were going to great lengths to get her to fall for their unusually cruel joke. No she was too smart for that.

When she was home she grew to miss him. She'd called his phone over and over, leaving voicemail after voicemail telling him that she knew what he was doing and that he didn't have to play games with her anymore. Then one day when called a woman's voice came across the phone saying the number was no longer in service.

Yumi had to admit, she was impressed at how far he was taking this. A therapist came in but Yumi knew she didn't need it. She didn't need anyone. There was nothing to talk about. "You need to talk to William! He's the jackass who won't come back," she told the Mr. Delmas once. "Tell him that this damn prank has gone on long enough."

But no matter what she did, no one would ease up on the joke. Not even when she screamed and cried and pleaded. They all insisted on playing their joke. All of them. Why? What purpose did this serve? 

"Just send him back here," she would say. "I miss him. And I'm going to slug him when I see him again."

But he never showed.

Grandma has died

“Yes….I heard…..”

The sadness had consumed her for quite some time. Despair even. Regret. Yumi hadn’t been around to save her, to help her even. Why? What was so important that she would have left them to fend for themselves?

“I’m sorry Grandma,” she whispered in defeat. In anger. “I’m so so sorry.”

Of course she couldn’t let the same fate (or worse) befall Jeremie. She would do her best, but that still didn’t mean she didn’t miss her older alternate self immensely. There was a continuous ache in her chest, a void that couldn’t be filled. She would have never imagined an alter’s death would have affected her so much…

Yumi (yourself) has died

What a strange feeling being dead. In fact, she wouldn't have realized it at first except for the fact that she no longer felt anything. No sensation of touch, or smell, or probably even taste. Sure she could hear but that seemed it.

The girl moved through the forest where her body was lying. XANA finally had his victory and Ulrich was leaning over her body. She could hear his sobs and wanted nothing more than to comfort him. "Come back!" he was shouting at her but it wouldn't work.

The girl turned looking around. So this was death. Would she be forever forced to move through these grounds, watching her loved ones mourn her death? 

Their guardian angel. That's what she was to become.

The moron has died (for reals, yo)

It would explain why the girl had disappeared and not made her appearance yet. Usually when it happened it didn’t take long before she reappeared. But….still….

“No, no Yumes-Yumes always comes back.” Yumi replied, glancing downward at her feet, biting her lip as she spoke. “You’re wrong, she’ll come back. She always does. That girl has twenty lives…”

But this nagging feeling in her stomach told her otherwise…
