Jardim Guedala Apartment by Diego Revollo. A classic-style apartment, almost 20 years old, is the new home of a young couple with two children who, having already hired the office for the previous residence, have returned this time for the renovation and decoration of this new 330 m2 property located in Jardim Guedala – Morumbi neighborhood – in São Paulo. One of the main emphases of the clients was the fact that the characteristics existing in the original architecture of the apartment already pleased them immensely and, in this way, the project highlighted the existing qualities, with ocasional alterations, surgically correcting the imperfections for functional adequacy. Frame designs were improved, delicate details in the joinery gave their touch but great emphasis was reserved for the interior decoration, the main focus on our work. The property’s huge windows and almost 3m ceiling height guarantee good lighting and spaciousness, while the feeling of warmth was due to the creation of a well-resolved layout, which encourages conversations and family life. The challenge was to promote a combination of styles that would require greater risks but would bring a result out of the obvious. The large living room was occupied by two smaller rooms, escaping the rigid formula of two sofás and a large coffee table. The mix of styles ( Italian, Brazilian, modern and vintage design ) gave rise to a timeless and surprising environment, all permeated by many pieces of art, guaranteeing, in addiction to beauty, an international elegance.

Black & Fluid Apartment is a project designed by Diego Revollo. The time and turn for curved shapes. Fluid architecture is not just an aesthetic issue. It reflects the moment we are living in: the breaking of rigidity. Freer spaces, with less hard lines, make the atmosphere lighter and improve well-being. This is reflected from the design of more flexible layouts, through the finishes and even the execution of the spatial structure. Photography by Renato Navarro.

This 230 m2 property, located next to University city in São Paulo, with bold and current days view approach, is an immersion of the architect Diego Revollo in the universe of flowing and curved lines. The owners of the property , fans of the office, and who have been with us for a long time, agreed to do something outside the comfort zone, with more masonry than joinery resources. The main door opens to the living room and, in general, we would make a large wooden panel to create an entrance hall, but the architect wished to escape this solution. For a long time the joinery functioned as an incredible and sophisticated architectural resource, but also very expensive. In this case, we seek to explore the masonry in a careful and innovative way, almost handmade. We created three sliding doors, installed in the drywall, to give a visual impact: they hide the kitchen, the entrance door and the access to the intimate area. The plasterer worked very well here, sculpting curved and more fluid shapes. These elements are more common in facades and little explored in interior design; bringing them “inside” was a challenge that brought a lot of enthusiasm to the office team. The curves are also present in the Silestone countertop of the barbecue area, in the home theater, in bathroom cabinets details and in the shapes of the kitchen table. Another issue was the choice of floor: we used large size Portinari porcelain tiles that reproduce stone. “I’m from the school where, for flooring, you choose natural wood or stone. I’ve always been against reproductions, but in this apartment, I finally gave in to them. The porcelain industry is surpassing itself every day”, says Diego Revollo. In the intimate area, the floor is made of Cumaru, a brazilian wood, which ages well and beautiful. Black burnt cement was used on kitchen walls, entrance hall and washroom , and the blackgranite varied in texture: smooth and rustic.

Fisher Island Apartment is a project designed by Diego Revollo. Formerly William K. Vanderbilt’s summer estate, Fisher Island is today a luxury condo doing justice to the former owner. To get to the island, international celebrity haven in the south of Miami Beach, is only possible by boat. Once there, privacy, security and convenience of a resort are guaranteed.
Located in a fifteen years old building, this 800m2 apartment, including balconies, is on the ground floor, which brings you closer to the atmosphere and the look of a house.
At the request of the residents, who wished for ample surroundings and in full harmony, it was totally transformed, in a record time of five months, including the final decoration. The living room and home theater – both with 100m2 – became practically a single space, combining also the office, the dining room and the entrance hall. With all the living areas integrated, practicality reigns, reinforced by contemporary furniture.
With white masonry and synthetic nanoglass flooring, the property was designed to fully appreciate natural lighting, to enjoy the privilege of receiving the morning and afternoon sun, and this brings beautiful nuances throughout the day.
Furniture and decoration items in neutral tones complete the minimal chic mood. The shades of gray, beige and black were brought to add warmth. The color appears in pieces like the citric “Balanço Cocar”, of Pax. Arq, which hangs from the ceiling between the office and the home theater, and in works of art in the living room. It’s important to say that the major highlight in this project , is for the works of established artists such as, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Fernando Botero,Adriana Varejão e Ascanio MMM, among others.
All furniture is from the Brazilian store“Artefacto” , that, with a wide range of options and a lot of versatility has delivered elegance and contemporaneity to the decoration.

Cumarú Apartment is a project designed by Diego Revollo. The young owners of this apartment in Alto de Pinheiros, São Paulo, wanted an interior design compatible with the life phase they were in: spacious enough to accommodate the daughter and without excesses that would hinder their stripped way of life. It was really necessary to adapt the architecture of the apartment to the style of the neighborhood in which it is situated: a quiet and mostly residential region, permeated by many green areas and abundance of sunlight. Photographer: Alain Brugier.
The original plan, compartmentalized, gave way to the integration of spaces, promoted by the architect, when the whole area of the balcony, that pervades the facade of the building, was integrated to the livin room. With this, the “external” area could become a continuation of the living, providing an expressive amount of natural illumination to the social area of the apartment. As for the reformulation of the plan, the changes were more measured. The architect proposed a lean circulation and sliding doors connecting the adjoining dormitory to the room. This has given rise to a playroom that can connect, or not, to the social part.
During the course of the project, it is essential to emphasize the fact that the terrace became part of the room, but continued with the concept of balcony. The level difference between the floors was maintained and the floor was coated in ceramic material. It was necessary to integrate, still keeping the difference. Even the transition between the living room and the terrace was thought to be smoothly finished by a metallic, elegant and discreet portico. The existing range was extended and was even considered to run a closing frame, but the metallic portico was sufficient to separate both environments without the need for a new layer of glass.
