@consiliuum [ DIEM;INQUISITOR] || CONTINUED –––– ⚔
–––––––– Cullen had begged her to leave when the fever began. It was the only compassion he could offer, she didn’t deserve to see him like this. He knew how it started, how bad it could become and it was typically why he liked Cassandra being by his side for this. She knew that what he spouted out at her when he was like this wasn’t true and she took no offense. She could handle the way he behaved and she’d gone through this many times, but Diem hadn’t. She was new to know about his addiction or rather the former one and it meant that she didn’t understand the logistics that came with treating someone who was going through withdrawal.
But she was headstrong and had insisted on staying and he couldn’t push her away, not when she was trying her best. He’d apologized so many times in advance because he knew that whatever he’d say wouldn’t be the kindest and he didn’t feel that way.
The fever had only grown worse and he was still trying to work, though finally after some persuasion had given orders to the soldiers to take the night off. He was going to return back to his office and do work but he’d thrown up again outside the door and had decided maybe it’d be best to go right to bed. He wasn’t sure how he had climbed up the latter after shrugging his armor onto its stand and he hadn’t expected his entire room to be primed for him.
He didn’t know how to answer her question, because he was still slightly surprised she had even gone through the lengths to do this for him. “No, it’s fine.” He wanted to thank her with a kiss but remembered that he had just gotten sick. “I appreciate it, I really do.” She was doing her best to take care of him and that was more then he’d have asked her for. “Are you going to stay?” He didn’t want to be alone, despite his usual protests.
