I don't understand.
There’s so much pain in difference. There is so much pain in similarity.
I don’t understand why everyone gets so angry over differences, like religion or sexual preference, because those differences have nothing to do with them. If someone celebrates Hanukkah, it doesn’t affect someone’s Christmas. Just like if someone liked both men and women, it doesn’t affect someone who doesn’t like any gender.
Differences are always shoved into the light and they are judged so cruelly; we make those differences look bad. We make them look evil.
And then there’s similarities that get judged, like depression and pain.
I don’t understand why people feel the need to compete against illnesses and pain. If someone gets diagnosed with depression, someone else who had been diagnosed with it longer feels the need to belittle the others illness. Or if someone sprains their arm, a person who once broke theirs feels the need to make a big deal about how much a sprain is nothing compared to a break. Now don’t get me wrong, breaking a bone sucks, but that doesn’t give you the right to belittle another’s pain.
I just don’t get why pain has to be a competition.
We all have pain, whether that be emotional, mental, or physical. We shouldn’t try to one up each other, because we don’t know what each other have gone through to earn that pain.
I think we should just be kind, and considerate of others.
