Look Up—Dig and Discover on the Quad
If you peek around the corner from the main entrance to Rosenwald Hall, you will find this fine bit of detail that offers up a command and an invitation: "Dig and Discover.” In the warmer climes of a Chicago summer it can be covered with ivy, but most of the time, it's just out there in plain sight.
But one must pause and look closely. What's that? A pair of nautiluses and a fine leather satchel. What's inside this satchel? Ah, you must bring your own creativity, your own imagination, your own spirit of wonder. I know you have some. After all, you're at the University of Chicago, a place full of meditative minds and curious folk.
