Jnewne2: #3 End
And back to the temple we go.
So this has some exentential dread and practicality that I was not expecting. We are dealing with anthopamorphic animals that have gods that Wombats don’t really want to talk to, see magic items all over their caves and wouldn’t trust magic with their life. Since it fucks shit up in the tunnels.
It’s interesting to see Digger being practical however she can in the most courteous way, but is still like no-nonsense and reaction to the right things like being born out of dead birds the right way.
I love how they just, naturally threw in these interesting philosophies and religions. The quick debate of the heart and liver. The paradox hole that is magic and thus unsafe to travel through. The statue being both more and less than the god they represent. And your name not being lost but destroyed, losing yourself not misremembering.
I think the last one gets me because it looks like it’s a forcible change to your persona as opposed to losing yourself. Because losing yourself implies that you can get it back.
On my fibonnaci scale of 1 to 21: I would but this as a 13. Yes it is very slow pace right now. A lot of dialogue and no real action or exciting moments. But it has a nice use of dread and ambiance, has interesting discussions that build the lore up logically (sees the hyena outcast first before we see the whole hyena clan and the confirmation that is shunned from the group). We have magic, we have lore, we have the gods but in a way that they are just characters themselves and not really all powerful. Just powerful than most. And besides, fantasy setting mining wombat is already an interesting character to start with, really too powerful. So I’m interesting in seeing how this turns out.
Well if you’re gonna be rude I hope the tongue moves and points in the wrong direction.
Just turn around and go back. You don’t need heads. Don’t need Onis. Don’t need Hindi Demon Gods. Just turn around and go the other way
The anti-magic wombat stance is just so fascinating to me. Like, a whole species just went “fuck magic they can’t infrastructure right”
Digger just became a tired mom in just one day
Well...you told him to do something. And he did something. Because that Is Something. So there’s that.
Booooooo you’re using the original definition of the word instead of the modern jargon, coward
