Notes: 4 months later...I'm so sorry

When you opened your phone that day, while on your break, you chatted more with the gamer geek.
Turns out, this is only one of two cartridges ever produced by the company before they went bankrupt.
A female and a Male version. The female one was auctioned a few times, but was unable to be traced down to a single owner.
It is lost.
You, somehow, ended up with the male version easily, with no one realizing what they sold to you.
It held impeccable value due to its unique and rare coding.
A demo was placed into production, but never finished. It was supposed to be a second version of both the male and female final product.
But they were scrapped due to funding issues.
The coding still exists for the demos, but no one that knows about their existence can pinpoint their location.
After you finished reading that, your mind spiralled.
This game was the only one in existence?
Now you can never share it with anyone. Not even friends. You can't invite people over since the guys just turn on your computer whenever you want.
Not that your complaining.
When you went back home, you made dinner, showered, and got in a onesie. It was cold.
You sat in front of your computer. It was already on, but the game itself wasnt loaded.
You clicked on it, and waited.
When the slots appeared, you thought back to your conversation with Hyunjin. He said the one named Jeongin seemed excited to meet you.
Without a second thought, you clicked it.
It took almost too long to load, making you worry something had happened to the game itself.
Right as you went to pull out the cartridge, the screen turned a lime green.
It was so bright compared to the soft pastels you were used to.
"Hello?" You asked, still not seeing anyone.
A few more moments passed before a broken voice suddenly appeared.
A glitch on the screen passed through before he appeared on the screen.
Your eyes widened at how young he looked. Maybe late teens, early twenties, and his hair was a beautiful curly ginger.
His eyes looked like a foxes, and his dimples deep as he smiled.
You waved.
"Hi," you said awkwardly, feeling a blush creep up into your face.
He smiled.
"Hi. Your y/n right?" His voice was smooth, and deep.
Not as deep as Felixs', but it was mature.
An old soul, perhaps.
Then you paused. Old soul? He's a digital character.
"I've been waiting to meet you. Your very pretty," he says shyly.
"Thanks," you smile, turning a deep red.
"So, what do you like to do? Hyunjin paints and...Felix and Han sing. Chan is, the leader? Do you all have hobbies?" You asked, wanting to make it less awkward.
He smiled.
He's always smiling-
"Well...we all sing. We were modeled after musicians. Personally, I like gaming. Chan is the leader. He was the first. But he's more of a protector. Han, he loves reading and watching anime. Felix, he likes gaming too, but he's bad at it-"
You laughed softly.
"-Hyunjin is the artist. Lee Know likes animals. You'll meet him later. He may seem cold, but he's a big softy. Changbin, he loves making music. And rapping. And lastly, Seungmin...hes very sarcastic, but loves his guitar," He finishes, smiling fondly.
You smile with him, loving how he speaks so fondly of them before you pause.
"Wait...modeled after musicians? What musicians?" You thought it was an innocent question with a simple answer.
His smile faded, and his eyes widened.
"What?"
You frowned.
"You said-" you were cut off.
"I didnt say that. No, i... I dont know why I said that," he looked nervous, so you didnt press any further.
You looked at him worried.
Changing the subject, hoping to make this first meeting pleasant, you asked, "so what games do you play?"
"Oh...uhm, League of Legends with Felix and Seungmin," his normal smile was back onto his face, relieving you.
"Are you any good?" You grinned.
You weren't much of a gamer, but would love to play with them.
"I'm not as bad as Felix, nit as good as Seungmin," he says shyly, scratching his neck.
"I'm not any good either, but I'd love to play with you guys sometimes," you tilted your head, feeling shy again.
His face was so pretty it made you want to cry.
You could tell he is the youngest. Maybe he wasnt fully programmed like the rest. But you didnt mind.
"Well, I dont think the others would mind. Seungmin is the healer, though," he said, making you nod with a giggle.
"Understood," you grin.
It almost looked like he was about to say something, but then paused, looking to the side. He nodded.
You wondered if one of the others were talking to him, and you were right. He turned and smiled at you.
"Gotta go. But we'll talk soon," then he left off the side of the screen without letting you say it back.
It made you blink. Watching the screen go from a line green to a pale gray made you freeze. What happened?
Suddenly, your screen froze before an icon appeared.
Move to Chans room?
>yes No
Chan must've wanted to see you.
You clicked yes, and the screen turned a pale pink. You were now in Chans room.
"Chan?" You asked, your voice soft.
"So you can tell us apart by our color? Smart," he moved into line of vision, letting you see from his shoulders, up.
"What's going on? I barely got to talk to jeongin," you said sadly. "Is he okay?"
He sighed.
"Yeah, he just wasnt supposed to give too much information. And I know you'd want an explanation-" he sighed.
You nodded.
"Who was it you guys were inspired from?" You asked curious.
He sighed.
"People of the same name. The company JYP. You familiar with them?" He asked.
You blinked.
"Yeah? I work for them. They're a furniture company,"
"They weren't always a furniture company-"
All of a sudden, articles upon articles popped up on the screen. Chan wanted you to see them.
"His father when he was younger wanted to produce games for lonely people. Like you. He made two games, and two demos before he found he was losing more money than making. And when his son was old enough, he turned it into something successful."
All you could do was blink.
What the hell was he talking about?
The few articles he brought up, only one of then talks about the games made by the company in their earlier years.
"What are the other games like?" You asked.
If they were anything like this cartridge, you wanted them all.
"Oh. Uhm, out of the four, there were two demos. Not released. He placed the lost code within our coding so it wouldn't get lost. As for the girl version, it's called XG. There are seven slots. That's all I know,"
You blinked yet again. How did your friend even come across this cartridge? You made a mental note to ask her.
"So, someone out there has the alternate version?"
He shrugged.
"Supposedly. Or maybe the game is rotting on a shelf. I dont know." He said with a blank face.
"Maybe you guys can help me find it," you said, hopeful.
He made a thoughtful face, then sighed.
"Maybe we can. While your at work, I'll have the guys look."
You smile.
"And what of the demos? You said they are in your coding?"
Chan cringed.
"Yes, but they aren't complete. We're able to speak to the others, but they are terribly glitchy,"
Your eyes widen.
"You can't complete the code yourself?"
He shook his head.
"No. None if us were programmed with that knowledge," he said sadly. "I know one of the girls were, but they obviously aren't here,"
"The girls? XG?" You asked, now fueled more than ever to get that cartridge ever since you found out about it.
He nodded.
"We need to find it, then. Free the demos," you said softly, making him smile.
"Your too kind," he smiled gently.
You laughed. "Whered Jeongin go?"
"Here," Chan looked down, and his arms moved as if he were doing something.
Then all of a sudden, you were kicked from his room, stunning you. But you calmed when you were quickly placed back into the line green room.
"Welcome back," you heard the youngers voice.
"Glad to be back," you said softly, making him smile.
"Sorry about that. I just knew he could explain it better,"
You shook your head. "Dont worry about it,"
"So, do you have any hobbies, y/n?" He asked, tilting his head.
"Uhm...not really. Haven't really had the time. The most I do aside from work is talking to you guys," your smile was off.
"Take some time off. Relax. You sound like you need it," he said softly.
"Your probably right. Maybe I should..." you yawned, contemplating his words.
"Sleep. It might help," he pointed to your bed behind you.
You nodded with a grin. "Yes, sir!"
It made both of you laugh, and as you stood, you paused.
"You said you all sing. Do you?" You asked softly.
He nods.
"Sing me to sleep?" You raise a brow, hopeful.
"Sure,"
You both smile, and as you got comfortable, he watched, his head rest on his palm.
Once all the lights were off, and you were half asleep, he started to sing.
And it was beautiful.
The way he pronounced his words made it seem like it lasted forever. His voice was soft but confident.
And it made you fall asleep faster than you ever had.
