You should 100% write a gloryhammer-esque album about siofra's adventures

This is one of the outright coolest damn anons I’ve ever gotten on this website.

For starters, excellent taste in cheesy power metal there, my good friend. For anyone that doesn’t know Gloryhammer, I highly encourage you to look up their two albums so far, “Tales From the Kingdom of Fife” and “Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards”

The first one’s about Scottish knights lead by a warhammer wielding man named Angus McFife who is off to kick the evil wizard’s ass after he sends undead unicorns to invade us. The second one, which is my favorite of the two, is about Angus’ descendant going into space to defeat evil wizards from the Hell dimension fighting alongside barbarian cyborgs who are Kings of California (hence my tumblr’s blog title), dwarves with laser battleaxes, riding atop mechanical dragons as they go to free the multiverse. It’s all pretty kickass, feel good, party time type of metal, and I guarantee you’ll have a huge smile on your face the whole time listening to this stuff even if you don’t normally do metal. It’s actually the kind of stuff I usually listen to. Gloryhammer’s goofy as hell and I love them. BONUS: It’s founded by the vocalist of other goofy metal favorite Alestorm, so if you like them (I know I sure as fuck do) and wonder why Gloryhammer is giving off those kinds of vibes, well, same people!

I’m also amused you said this because I have a list of fictional bands and some of their albums and songs and backstories I’ve come up with and encourage people to act as if they’re fans of/are members of and also let people use them for any writing/art projects they like (Sexwarrior’s shown up as posters in the rooms of @iron-eater‘s work). One of them is “Battlecraft” which is a Gaelic folk metal band focused entirely on singing metal ballads about Siofra.

And if that’s the kind of content my audience wants, well, I’m no singer, but my most recent NaNoWriMo proved I’m good at coming up with lyrics and emulating many different musical genres.

This is going on my fridge tho, regardless, just for how good of an idea this is and proof that my audience and Siofra fans are the coolest people online.

I just read your Senran Kagura essay after finding out about it in a Moegamer article (that also linked one of my own), and I would just like to say that it was amazing, and I feel that it connects with me a lot as well. Hearing about how you have been excluded from the LGBT community due to their sex negative and puritanical attitudes definitely sounds immensely frustrating, but it is relieving to hear that Cis lesbians are subject to this type of self guilt, and that it's not trans exclusive.

But coming back to this made my day. I’m glad to know it’s helping people. Makes writing all of it worth it.

I read your essay today and it was so powerful. So honest. So... true? So good. I consumed it. I'm a gay man, so I can't claim to understand the struggles of being a lesbian in comparison to being a gay male, but the whole message behind representation and its importance really hit home for me. Things I never thought twice about were brought to light, and I feel like it helped me see things from a new perspective. It also helped me identify ways I could be a better ally to my lesbian friends 1/2

Yeah, our struggles have similar roots but ultimately we are still different people with different needs. But everyone deserves to see themselves. I’m glad I could get this across so well.

I found your Long Live The Queen essay and frankly I was moved. It's a perspective on the LGBT community I haven't seen or experienced. Heck, even though I liked Senran Kagura going into the essay I now have a new perspective on it and Katsuragi that I never read too deep into til now. As far as I'm concerned you're a bonafide knight and I look forward to see what ya do next!

And the reviews keep rollin’ in and the critics love the summer underdog that is Long Live The Queen

But seriously, this response and the others have been overwhelming in the most amazing sense. I don’t think anything else I’ve ever written has garnered this much pure positivity to it. Who knew I could change minds and make the world a better place just preaching the word of Senran Kagura?

And oh gosh, I feel like I just unlocked my own special character-specific job class nobody else in the game gets, like some kind of paladin in Queen Kat’s name. I just need to figure out what my job class skills are, besides the obvious bonus to any Lay On Hands roll.

You really are an inspiration to us all, I often felt guilty being a transwoman playing Senran Kagura, like I was a guy you know? Your article made me feel right, and I can't thank you enough for that.

There’s no wrong way to experience the series (save for the neckbeard dudebro crowd). So long as you identify as a woman, in my book, that’s all I need. Hell, a lot of my best friends online are transwomen (I also befriend bi/pan people really easily? like what) and they enjoy them some super gay stuff. I think it’s just part of the process. Media like this is a safe playground for us to learn how to identify and be comfortable with ourselves, regardless of whom any intended audience is or may be, and we shouldn’t let anyone take that from us.
