Pulse returns
It started with a small twitch. After, Primula began to speak his name. Beatrice held his hand, stroking it softly as she always did when he first ended up like this. As his mother repeated his name, his face began to move. He was showing signs of awakening.
“Pulse, please, just open your eyes. Please.” Primula spoke softly, hand upon his forehead. The two kept their eyes locked onto his face, watching as his eyelids moved slightly before closing again. After another second they opened more. Smiles grew on the girl’s faces though they soon faded. He seemed to have a slight pained look upon his face which was soon followed by him re-closing his eyes.
Footsteps approached, “how is he doing?” Lumi almost spoke in a whisper.
“He opened his eyes but not for long,” Beatrice turned around to face the other, “do you think that device Dr. Yoshiyama made might have affected him badly?”
Lumi knelt beside her, “I...I don’t know. I wasn’t told anything about it. I even asked Spark in case he told him. That device was built to delete every C-Life in case of an emergency so I thought that he might have told another human about it instead of one of us.”
“Are you sure you’re not lying?”
“Yes Veil, I’m sure. Could you get off my bed now? You’ve been outside and you could be putting dirt on my bedding,” Spark span in his chair to glare at Veil. The other just returned it before looking at the ceiling again. He sighed, “look, just what did you come here for? You know today is the day me and my family are going out. I’m going to have to leave soon.”
Veil moved to sit up, “I came for advice. I’ve already told you of most things that have happened in my life but what I’m going to tell you is something big.”
“Bigger than you loosing the key to Doc Waruyama’s secret base?”
He began to rub his neck, “a lot bigger. You see, I’m-”
“Vic, it’s time to go!” Spark rose at the sound of his mother’s voice. He looked at Veil who gave him a signal to go.
“I’ll tell you later. It’s not that big,” well, it was but he didn’t want Spark to waste time listening. His parents wanted to go so, if Spark wasted time, they might go upstairs and discover him. Veil wasn’t sure how’d they react to that.
“Do you remember your name?”
“How are you feeling? You’re not light-headed, are you?”
“Do I have to get him something? Is that what’s needed for this situation?”
Pulse slowly followed where each voice came from, blinking as he did. Things were blurry. He wished that it wasn’t. He wanted to see just where he was.
“Okay, okay,” the teenagers stopped talking once Primula began, “this isn’t getting us anywhere. We...we need to take baby steps to help him,” he attention was drawn to Pulse, “you’ve been out for some time, we need to know if you can remember things. Can you remember your name?” Can he even speak? That device was mysterious; it could have done anything to him.
Pulse closed his eyes for a moment before he answered, “it’s...Pulseman. Pulseman Yoshiyama,” he noted the smiles (were they smiles? He wasn’t sure, his vision hadn’t fully cleared) upon their faces.
“Do...do you remember us?” Beatrice spoke, keeping his hand in a gentle grasp.
“I...I think I do. You’re my mother,” he looked at Primula before his eyes travelled to Beatrice, “you’re Beatrice...or Riche,” was he right with both names? “And you’re...Lumi.”
Beatrice grabbed his hand with both of her’s, smiling as wide as she could, “Pulse, I’m glad you can remember us all,” she’d kiss him but she didn’t want to rush things. He had only just awoken, after all.
“I’m glad too, Riche,” his eyes began to scan the room looking for someone. Worried expressions took over the three’s faces. Was he looking for his father? He couldn’t he remember what had happened? No. They soon knew who he was looking for when he spoke. The looks on their faces soon vanished as he popped the question.
“Where’s Veil?”
One down, two to go
They knew the plan. They knew how dangerous it was going to be. So why did she have to tag along? Pulse wasn’t sure but, for some reason, his father wanted her to. That was another thing, Pulse wasn’t sure why his father had decided to go along with him on this mission. They all only knew that Galaxy Gang was hiding something that was bigger than what they could imagine yet that wasn’t something new. So what made it different? Just why was his father and Lumi, a mysterious girl who his father knew, with him? Pulse sighed, finally tuning into what his father whispered to them, “don’t worry dad, I’ve done this sort of stuff before. Just...you two be careful and stay behind me, okay?” Yoshiyama was the first to nod, Lumi seemed to want to know if she was supposed to by watching him.
It was quieter than they expected. Was this part of CG Space always like this? So silent, as if forgotten? The teenagers looked at each other then their eyes travelled towards the doctor, locking on to him. He was focused on the area they had entered. He looked...in pain?
“Doctor?” Lumi asked, giving Pulseman a quick glance before she continued, “doctor? What’s the matter?”
He jumped slightly, clearly being removed from his thoughts. His memories. “I-I’m fine, really. I just didn’t expect them to be in this place.”
Pulse came to a halt, Lumi copied him almost instantly. “Dad, what’s wrong with this place? Where are we?”
He sighed and fell silent. The two watched him, waiting for some kind of answer. As the seconds grew into minutes, they both wished for he to say something. Anything. But they got nothing but Syakuei walking ahead of them.
Since he had grown silent, the others had too. They remained as Yoshiyama’s shadows until he froze. Upon gazing at what was in front of them, the teenagers stood, star struck, at the machine. It was something that appeared to not be Galaxy Gang made. It was as if the machine had been there for years, collecting dust.
“You wanted to know what this place was and now you know,” his voice broke through the whirring and beeping of the machine. The two stared at the man, curious and waiting for him to continue. “This machine was something I built years ago. I...I had a feeling something was going to go wrong so I went ahead a built a way to delete every C-Life I created. Of course, it never gained enough power to do so,” but, in the hands of Galaxy Gang, he knew it was only a matter of time for it to gain that much power
“You built a way to delete-” She started only to be cut off by a voice. A voice that didn’t belong to any of them.
“What can I say, Yoshiyama is a careful man,” Veil spoke, standing up from teleporting into the room. The doctor threw a worried glance in his direction, “what’s the matter? You think me teleporting would set it off? My father has already sorted that out. He still is,” the C-Life smirked as his father walked around the platform above the machine.
“So it was true! You’re still alive!” Yoshiyama’s voice echoed through the room, circulating around the man he once called brother. What Veil had told him when they had ended up in another universe was true. That must mean Waruyama’s plan to remove his son from existence was also true.
Veil, without even keeping his eyes on him, dash towards Pulse when Waruyama nodded the signal for him to fight. Pulse pushed Lumi aside as he engaged in combat with the other. Lumi signalled for the doctor to move over to her where it was safe after noticing that Pulseman had taken the fight far from them and the machine. It was only a matter of time for Veil to bring it back towards them which meant they all could be in danger.
The doctor didn’t move though. He didn’t even acknowledge her. His attention remained on Doc Waruyama. “You know how much damage this machine could do! Without that programming, it take all of the power from Earth and wipe us all out!” Well, creatures living in the real world would be safe. Everything in CG Space would most likely be destroyed.
“Correction, Yoshiyama, there are two ways to deactivate this machine,” he pressed the button, “either the program is needed or someone like our sons.”
“Pulse!” The fight stopped before another punch was made. Even Veil had turned to look at the one calling Pulseman’s name. “The machine! You have to stop-” “Dad?! Dad, what are you doing?!” He began to head towards the machine, Lumi noticed and started to head over. She had been too occupied with stopping Doc Waruyama from leaving the room but, sadly, he had sent his men there to keep her busy. After noticing Yoshiyama, they had left to keep their boss safe.
“Veil. I know this is odd but,” he flipped a switch from the panel that he had opened once Waruyama had left the room, “keep them safe.”
“And you?!”
“I-I need to stay,” he continued, pulling out a miniature laptop, one that he had packed before they left, and plugged it into the machine. He was going to upload the program before the machine could kill everyone.
Veil tried to hold and push the others back towards the door, out of the way. Of course, Pulseman made it difficult for him. He constantly tried to reach for his father, screaming that Yoshiyama could leave and, with his speed, Pulse could shut the machine down and get out of there before it went off. Yoshiyama sounded like a broken record player, repeating the same thing. He was the only one who knew the program’s coding.
That was when a eerier screeching sound that seemed to pierce their ears. The room darken as the screens upon the device began to switch on. Pulse pushed Veil aside once the noise came to a sudden stop. The two remained just pass the doorway as Pulse dashed past them. The room was filled with a bright white light within a second. Once they could see again, Pulse laid upon the ground. Yoshiyama was nowhere in sight.

Now that was fast. The two had been caught off guard by it. Watching the blur, they tried to figure out just who it was. They weren’t blue so they couldn’t have been Veil.
Pulse looked down at his communicator, smiling at Beatrice to give her a sign that he was going to catch up to the speedster. She returned the smile, turning the screen off as Pulseman began to run. It didn’t take long for the boy to match the other’s speed. “You seem to be in hurry. Any reason for that?” He wanted to know just what this guy was up to. After all, Pulse only knew one other fast person and that person was with the enemy.

He’d admit it, there was a lot going on now. First, Veil had come out of his hiding place to try to attack him and his father and now his father had introduced some new girl called Lumi. He was sure Doc Waruyama was going to pop up again or something. With these thoughts circulating around his head, Pulse sighed, trying to focus on the lake. On the dragonflies dashing around it.

Pulse had decided, now that he had sorted out the whole Galaxy Gang and the whole universe travelling thing out, that he could have a break doing one of his newly formed hobbies until something else popped up and caused him to stop hunting bugs.
During this, he came across what appeared to be some kind of...fire fly? He slowly approached it, trying not to startle it so it will fly away, while lowering his net to his side as he became more fascinated with the creature before him.
