Projector review: Dangbei Mars Pro vs. XGIMI Horizon Pro

Dangbei and XGIMI are both pioneering brands in the projectors industry. XGIMI has marched a lot more than Dangbei in global projectors market while Dangbei just stepped into it last year. Both of them launched 4k projectors. Except for 4k, what are the differences of them?

There are 3 biggest differences between these two popular 4k projectors.

The brightness

XGIMI Horizon Pro features a brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens while Dangbei Mars Pro adopts 3200 ANSI lumens which is much higher. The higher the brightness, the brighter the image is. A brighter image is always on the right side. Such a high brightness is rarely seen in the projectors industry fro now. The projector with a brightness of over 2000 ANSI lumens is quite rare, not to mention 3200 ANSI lumens. The brightness of Dangbei Mars Pro almost reach at the top in the whole projectors industry.

XGIMI Horizon Pro features storage of 2+32GB while Dangbei Mars Pro adopts a large memory of 4+128GB. Both of them has a built-in Android operating system. XGIMI Horizon Pro adopts an LED light source while Dangbei Mars Pro adopts an ALPD laser source. The laser source features durability and stability. Laser technology not only has a long lifespan but also is generally brighter than LED lamps. That is probably the main reason that laser projectors cost more, but we’ve seen the price decrease to a certain degree as the laser technology matured.

As for their functions, both of them adopts Autofocus, Keystone Correction, Intelligent Screen Alignment, Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance, etc.
