Wheeljack resisted chuckling as the sparkling- despite being gently 'kicked'- refused to let go of Haybail. She'd certainly made her choice. And he'd respect it- especially with how she was fighting the mech on it.
"I'm not so sure." He shrugged his pauldrons. "The way I see it,...you're trying to escape the war. Head somewhere without all the fun stuff. But if she stuck with me, or Prime, or Arcee,...she'd never be free of it." No matter how much Optimus or Arcee would try to coddle her and sequester her away from combat,...those two were nearly central figures in this war- and he was far from a 'safe' option with his near-renegade tendencies. A fun one, to be sure- but not safe.
Not safe enough for a sparkling.
Especially not one that had been cowering in a pipe when he'd first met her.
Besides-- it didn't look like she'd happily part from Haybail's side. He was the safest option out of them all, and the only one the young one seemed interested in sticking with.
"Plus,...this is the first thing she's fought for since we found her. So I think I'll respect her choice."
