This always frustrated me because my boss is nowhere near the vicinity of white passing like Asha what the fuck

!!! like this is where i honestly can’t believe they hecked up so bad, the implications of Asha having ‘very specific concerns’ about the boss and then potentially white washing them is just... like jfc Vol did you not think this through even a little?

It's such a 'yikes' moment to me every time. It feels especially awful when they turn Shay (who is nonbinary and femme-leaning) to a white dude with a goatee. Secondarily, when they turn Hannah into a super-skinny white lady. Like, I get they were going for a gag, but way to make anyone whose boss isn't the 'default' potentially feel othered.                

oh man, i’m ashamed to admit i’d never thought of the awful gender flubbing potential too :( do you headcanon the whole mess as going differently or do Hannah and Shay have to have a talk with Asha afterwards?

I just don't understand how completely replacing the Boss with a new model was -that much less- work than mirroring them and just slapping an eyepatch and goatee on. I still headcanon that scene differently. I can't think of a single reason to take it at face value.              

for real tho, i dont get why they didn’t just mirror the boss. it makes little to no sense to me D:

i headcanon it differently too, i just... i dont get the point. ‘Ms. X’ is just Lux in an eyepatch, bionic arm, and goatee, and regular Lux spends at least five to ten minutes randomly going "the arm is cool, but a goatee, Asha?!?!"

I have this theory that Asha is super bad with faces, like the kind if she doesn't see them regularly she'll forget what they really look like and she just built the boss into a "default" evil look

5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

Many potions (and max potions), a lot of whetstones, bitterbugs, demondrugs/armorskins, lifecrystals, a demon horn sometimes, rations, maps, more whetstones, dung bombs, paintballs and a whole lotta crap that depends a lot on the quest, and barrel bombs +....tho i guess that doesn’t fit in pockets technically. Whetstones.

14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?

Faces I think, mostly because in Monster Hunter you tend to know people more by their profession or nickname than by their actual name. 

39. Has your character ever been bitten by an animal? How were they affected (or unaffected)?

YES IT’S PART OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION

But yes regularly =w= And as probably a dual blades user (not sure yet but it’s my main so), he’s far too often in the range of teeth. 

More seriously though, I consider him an experienced hunter who has faced Elder Dragons before, but I have to have him start in Low Rank at the beginning of the story, so some time before the game’s story starts he suffer a really bad full-body bite from an invading monster (that possibly gets infected too cuz nasty rotten area) that puts him out of commission for a while and forces him to take on the Low Rank quests when he’s back on his feet as rehabilitation, and he takes on a mentor role to a new hunter to get back into the swing of things. He’s not personally affected by it once it’s healed but it does leave a huge bite scar on his chest.
