Inspired by Gene Youngblood’s chapter on TV in his book “Expanded Cinema” (1970), and especially his quotation “Television reveals new dimensions of inner space”, I returned to my vast repository of abstract close-up images photographed from the TV over the years. Light sources in themselves, but also inherently a grid formation, I was interested in the aspects of boundarylessness and infinity that the formal elements alluded to. I used TouchDesigner to composite several images, distorting and transforming them further, into this new format.
