Vick was swimming along, having magicked up herself some gills, blissfully unaware of anything that may have caught her in their eyes. occasionally she'd give a happy boost of speed or a loopdaloop, humming a happy tune.
He moved silently, not a noise from the shark as his massive torpedo-shaped body slid through the water with incredible ease. The other was completely unaware, making her an easy target.
Mouth opening wide to displays scores of jagged teeth, Bruce’s grin widened incredibly and a booming voice bellowed forth from his cavernous throat.
It was a quiet day in the TARDIS, seemed like no 'adventures' planned for today. The Master could just sit back, relax, and read one of Doctor's seemingly endless supply of books. He had picked out a book by Stephen King, Thinner if he remembered correctly, and sat on a comfy sofa in the library just on the other side of the pool.
While the pain of others no longer interested him, Fictional characters were another story completely. His favorite genre was Horror, in both book and film, a genre he found was better by American writers rather than British. He was just getting to the part where the man started losing weight, when out of the corner of his eye he noticed a woman come into the library. Doctor had told him that this girl's name was Vick, and that she would be staying with them indefinitely.
Vick was about five foot eleven, much taller than the two hedgehog Timelords, and dressed in the same blue outfit on a daily basis. She was mostly human in appearance, but had the distinction of pink and blue cat ears, a bit large for her, on top of her head, clashing with her blonde hair. As well as two fluffy tails, matching the colour of her ears, rested above her rear. This was all on top of her looking to be about three and a half months pregnant.
Master had yet to actually interact with the half breed, never really finding a time where it wouldnt seem... awkward. Already it had been a month since her living there, and the two hardly had a moment where Doctor wasn't yammering on about something or taking them off on an adventure, for which Vick wasnt ready and stayed behind.
The half breed lazily floated up to a higher shelf, having the short handed ability to fly, and reached for what looked like a comic book. One of those backwards comic books you had to read right to left. She smiled, seeming to have never read that story before, and made her way back down. As she did she noticed Master was sitting across the pool, reading his own book.
What Master didnt know, was that he was what's known as an 'Alternate'. An Alternate of some one very, very dear to her. It made Vick's smile fade momentarily, before she took in a deep breath, exhaled, and made her way over to him.
-Hiya.- she said with a cheerful tone. -Mind if I join ya?-
The Master simply tipped his head to the side in a 'go right ahead' motion. Vick took a seat, leaving a cusion between them, and began to read her graphic novel. Curious as he was, he couldnt help but take a peak at the cover of her book. 'Inuyasha' it read, and had a boy with pure white hair and dog ears on the cover. It sort of confused him as to what it could be about.
-He's a Half demon, like me.- The dark hedgehog looked up to see Vick had caught him looking. She was smiling, happy he was the least bit interested in what she was reading. -He and his friends have to collect shards of a powerful gem, so that this guy doesn't get 'em and destroy the world.- she explained, pointing to an evil looking character on the page.
"... I see." Master went back to his own book, a little embarrassed he was caught although not knowing why. He wasn't much interested in the same kind of story as her. Vick was quiet a moment, before piping up again.
-What're you readin'?- She asked curiously. He simply held up the book cover, not even looking back up. -Thinner? Oh, I love that one! Have you read it before?-
Master nodded. He had in fact read it several times before, back when he was posing as Harold Saxon to gain control over Earth. Doctor hadn't ever discussed liking this book with him before, so he assumes Doctor doesn't like the same kind of books as him. Vick, however, seemed to.
-I like the part where the Gypsy lady hits the dude with the Ball bearing.- she grinned, her tails wagging happily. -Although frankly when it comes to Stephen King, I prefer his short stories, or even the movie adaptations.-
"...really?" He paused, thinking of what to say next. It might be nice to have a friend that shared this interest. "What's your favorite?"
-hmm, tough to say. I say its a tie between 'The Cat from Hell' and 'The Mist.' The Mist made a good movie.- Vick didn't take too very long to think her answer. She spoke rather fast, much like Doctor, he could see why they got along, that's for sure. -What about you?-
"Well I'm actually fond of 'Children of the Corn' myself." Was that a smile on the Timelord's face? "But I thought they completely butchered it on film."
-Original movie or the remake?-
"There was a remake?" His interest was fully perked now. "I wasn't aware there was a remake."
-Yup. I have here in Pac if you wanna check it out.- The half breed offered, already reaching into her bag and pulling out the DVD for him. -I don't think its as good as the book either, but I think its got its own special flare. Like all horror movie remakes.-
"Now?"
-Nows a good a time as any.- she agreed.
"... I'd like that. Lets go." Master put down his book and almost excitedly made his way to the TV room. Vick happily followed him, about as excited as Master was hiding.
Its storming outside the TARDIS as the familiar half breed approached. She was hesitant to knock, as she took in a deep breath and exhaled. Knock knock knock.
"I’ll get it!" The Doctor sing-songed as he made his merry way to the TARDIS doors. Wasn’t everyday he got visitors, so he was quite excited to see who was here. He really didn’t care who was at the door. It has been far too long since he last spoke to anyone.
However, when he opened the door, his happy expression went to shock as he could feel Vick’s emotions. No contact required.
"Vick? What’s wrong? What is it? What happened?" He pulls her out of the rain, already running around the room, looking for a blanket or a towel. In a corner somewhere, he finds a blanket, not caring that it’s going to get soaked. He hurries back to Vick and wrap the blanket around her. "Tell me what happened."
