He straightens up from bending down to pet Hulijing and smiles politely when they approach, but there's no hint of recognition in his eyes. "Is this your dog? It's very friendly. Can I help you?" he asks. Fang Duobing opens his mouth, probably ready to recite Li Xiangyi's entire life story back to him, but Di Feisheng surreptitiously hits him in a meridian point to mute him. Fang Duobing coughs, grabbing his throat, and glares murderously at him. "We had a long journey. Do you know of any place we can rest and have some tea?" Di Feisheng asks. Wariness creeps into Li Xiangyi's face. "The village is too small to have an inn, perhaps in the next town—" "Just for a cup of tea. I don't think my companion will last till the next town," Di Feisheng says, and at least Fang Duobing has the sense to pretend to cough a little more.
