DILAC Lab

The new Digital Integrative Liberal Arts Center (DILAC) is located on the third floor of Skiles in room 318. This space is full of cutting edge resources for students to use. It is also a perfect place to collaborate with other students on projects. 

The lab is equipped with 3D Printers* as well as poster printers. Students can print class related posters completely for free! There are Lab Assistants on staff throughout the week to help assist with printing and teach students how to utilize the other technology. 

Also—with an approval from your professor— you can rent a bunch of cool equipment from the Lab such as Nikon D3500 Cameras, GoPro Cameras, and tons of lighting and sound equipment. The DILAC Lab wants to encourage students to create their own digital media artifacts and gives equipment demos to help them do so.

The lab is designed as an open studio space where students and faculty can collaborate on research, assignment, and personal interest projects. It is open every day form 9:00am to 4:00pm. It is generally staffed and welcomes walk in visits. 

This semester the Lab has hosted a series of Virtual Reality events to allow students to interact with this technology first hand. They also held a Digital Humanities and Design Symposium where scholars came together to explore relations between these two interconnected fields.
