I can't even be mad if Tumblr flags this, because yeah. I know what it looks like. Aging will make it possibly worse: these eventually slump to creep along the ground and spawn...more...which is why this 'small' cactus is in a large-ish pot by itself: it can and will smother other plants as it grows.
You can see the growth pattern pretty well, actually! Those darker rings are flower crowns of years past: the one about halfway down is how tall it was when I got it. All that lighter green? A little under a year's worth of growth.
