What is transandrophobia and why is it called that? By the guy who coined it and is kind of tired of seeing it defined in the opposite of what it's meant to describe.
In it's most simple definition. Transandrophobia is the way that the fear of men impacts the material reality and mental/physical health of transgender men.
Transandrophobia, is the way that the fear of men and/or masculinity effects transgender menās ability to access queer and transgender spaces, sexual assault survivor resources, and reproductive health care.
Transandrophobia, is the way that the fear of men and/or masculinity holds back transgender men from transitioning or from presenting as masculine.
Transandrophobia, is the way the fear of men and/or masculinity results in the disowning of transgender men from previous found families and the isolation of transgender men in general.
Transandrophobia, is the way the fear of men and/or masculinity has resulted in people using their trauma as an excuse for abusing transgender men, physically, sexually, and emotionally.
Transandrophobia, is the way the fear of men has resulted in people refusing admittance to āmale identified peopleā to certain queer events and safe spaces.
Transandrophobia, is the way that the fear of masculinity has led to people assuming that butches across the gender spectrum are inherently violent and hyper-sexual.
Transandrophobia, is the way that the fear of men and/or masculinity results in the forced feminization of transgender men in queer spaces, with the insistence that those who refuse to feminize themselves to make others more comfortable should not be allowed entrance to certain queer spaces.
Transandrophobia, is the way that the fear of men has led people to assuming that butches who were assigned female at birth, are at risk of becoming the enemy (a man) and should not be given the same amount of trust as a feminine presenting cis woman.
Transandrophobia, is when that the fear of men being in womenās spaces prevents trans men and non-binary people who present as male from accessing gynecological care, abortions, and birth control.
Transandrophobia, is when transgender men must make themselves smaller to be seen as āone of the good onesā and it is when a trans man who is loud or sexual or Black or Brown or too masculine is seen as a threat to the safety of other transgender people.
Transandrophobia, is when transgender men who speak up about how the normalized way of speaking ill about men in feminist and queer spaces has made them activity suicidal, de-transition, or prevented them from transitioning, are told to āshut up and sit downā or āgood.ā
Transandrophobia, is not when trans men face misogyny ā that is just a trans man facing misogyny (which all trans men face, because misogyny and sexism effects everyone, not just women). However, transandrophobia is when someone says that trans men donāt face misogyny because they are men, make claims that trans men benefit from misogyny since they are men, or insist that trans menās experiences with misogyny arenāt as valid or as bad as when a woman or non-male person faces misogyny.
Transandrophobia, is when trans menās struggles are dismissed as being less important, because men donāt need help or men already have help or men don't face real struggles.
Transandrophobia, is when people refuse to acknowledge that the patriarchy seeās transgender men as failed women and not men, which is why transgender men do bot benefit from the patriarchy but are instead violently and systematically punished by it.
Transandrophobia is that and a whole lot more, I would need a book to describe the entirety of the issue, I have been writing a book on it for over six years and re-writing it over and over because if I say it wrong, or say it with too much emotion, or not enough emotion, or with too many numbers, or not enough numbers, and publish it without using perfect wording, trans men might not get another chance to speak up for a long ass time and we will once again have to find new words to say "Pretty please treat me like a human being and let me have access to the things I need in order to survive." and "Pretty please consider that if a large group of people from a minority are telling you they are being oppressed by these actions and fears, then maybe you should believe them or at least the material statistical evidence of that oppression, since you probably trust journals more than us describing our reality and lived experiences."
This aint what this blog is about but a lot of yall need a reminderrrr
Nothing like going to bed. Yay I get blanket time!
Nothing sadder than wake up time. What do you mean I need to leave the kingdom of warms?
The lack of agreement across brands on what āextra firm tofuā is is, in fact, very high on my list of unimportant problems.
Several years back āextra firmā still had high water content and needed to be diligently pressed and pan fried with care if you wanted to achieve crispy.
And then I guess tofu had a moment and brands got scared of losing people to trial-and-error and started manufacturing extra-firm tofu you could use to break a window and escape a house fire with.
And the more Americanized brands went that direction while the traditional brands said āno thatās fucking stupid weāre not changing anythingā and SOME brands said āwhat if we do like the middle of that?ā
Buying tofu is now in fact a vibe-check game of assessing a brandās packaging and gauging what YOU think they mean by āextra firmā
Itās actually worse in fact because you need to play the vibe-check game twice on account of the recipe will inevitably call for some kind of āextra firmā and you need to know ITS vibes.
Asking you to grate the tofu on a cheese grater and bake it? Westernized. You want that red brick tofu. You want Whole Foods amount of extra firm or SUPER firm because if that thing has any amount of moisture left in it itāll disintegrate like Tubby Custard on the grater.
Tofu scrambled eggs? You want the OG extra firm. You want it to hold its form but still have that softness and give unless your goal is to imitate sad dining hall scrambled eggs.
Many such difficulties in todayās tofu landscape
They should be printing the tofu's mechanical properties like it's a structural material.
Packaging should have one of these
#my trick for checking tofu firmness on the packaging is to look at the kj per 100g#more kj per 100g = less water content #if one tofu has 300kj per 100g and one tofu has 500kj per 100g then I know which one's gonna be wetter and softer (via @demiurgenesis)
Hello??
Hello!!!???
Shaking your hand shaking your hand shaking your hand???????
These are the random extra/super firm tofus in my fridge and the labels are based on my own experience with them. Completely in alignment with this trick hello????????????
The weaver's lament:
Why are there so many bits of string
Where are all my fucking bits of string
Repeat.
Verse two:
Why are there so many tiny hooks Where are all my fucking tiny hooks
Repeat.
Verse three:
I'm so sick of threading all these heddles
I miss threading all the tiny heddles
Verse four:
Why do I always have to fucking hemstitch
I wish I had just done the fucking hemstitch
May I add?
I don't need to change the tie up, I'll adjust the treadling
Why didn't I change the fucking tie up?
Why are there so many virtually identical sticks
None of these sticks is the specific stick I need :(
Verse 7:

SHIT shit SHIT I've more yarn than I thought

During a recent televised debate, Rep. Jasmine Crockett took Mike Huckabee down over his interpretation of Christian morality.
Jasmine Crockett:
āGovernor Huckabee, what does Jesus say in Matthew 25 about how weāll be judged?ā
Mike Huckabee:
He hesitated, mumbling something about sheep and goats.
Crockett: āThatās right. The final judgment. Would you like me to quote it?ā
Before Huckabee could respond, she read directly from her phone:
āI was hungry and you gave me food.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
I was sick and you looked after me.
I was in prison and you came to visit me.ā
Crockett continued:
āJesus doesnāt mention abortion.
He doesnāt mention same-sex marriage.
He doesnāt bring up tax rates or culture war issues.
The only criteria Jesus gives for heaven or hell are how we treat the poor, the sick, the immigrant, the prisoner.ā
She looked Huckabee in the eye:
āSo, Governor, if you oppose every single one of those policies, what does that say about your understanding of Christian morality?ā
Huckabee tried to respond, but Crockett pressed on:
Matthew 19:21 ā āSell all your possessions and give to the poor.ā
Luke 4:18 ā āProclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners.ā
Matthew 8 ā Jesus heals a man with leprosy, touching someone society called unclean.
āYou say Iām not a real Christian because I support feeding programs for kids, universal health care, and immigration reform. But Jesus said those are the exact things that determine salvation.ā
Then came the knockout:
āJesus never said, āI was a wealthy corporation and you gave me tax breaks.ā
He never said, āI was a gun manufacturer and you protected my profits.ā
He never said, āI was a pharmaceutical company and you let me charge whatever I wanted.āā
Crockett concluded: āYour version of faith asks whether someone deserves help before offering it. But Jesus never said, āI was hungry and you checked if I had a job first.āā
She quoted Isaiah 58, Proverbs 31, and Micah 6:8, then addressed Huckabeeās final attempt to challenge her.
Huckabee: āBut you still support abortion and same-sex marriage. Youāre picking and choosing.ā
Crockett: āThe word abortion appears zero times in the Bible. Same-sex marriage, also zero. But caring for the poor? Dozens of times. Welcoming immigrants? Direct commands. Healing the sick? Over and over again. So if someoneās cherry-picking, Governor, it isnāt me.ā
She closed with this: āYouāve spent your whole career telling Christians they have to choose between their politics and their faith. But maybe the real question is this: How can someone claim to follow Jesus while opposing everything Jesus said?ā
She tore him apart into little pieces.
Moral: āDonāt hide behind the New Testament if you donāt understand it!ā
