here have a Dilty
Ok. Dilty. Let's talk about it.
Dilty is a pairing which involves Dedalus and Cara. I like this pairing because even though Delds doesn't tell everything to Cara (and vice versa) and they're not super intimate they can still like each other and be comfortable with each other.
The thing about Dilty is that Delds is continually dueling on his feelings for Hestia alongside his feelings for Cara. Because Delds loves Hestia, he does. I'm not saying that he doesn't like/is in love with Cara, it simply is different.
Cara will always (and unfortunately) be the one who Delds turns to when Hess rejects him. That would explain they're on and off relationship.
The way I see it, as the situation evolves and they both grow, Dilty is, for both of them, the relationship they can always go back too when they're hurt. (If I'm not mistaken Cara also has her share of boys/boyfriends at some point) It's not very deep and all but they're good friends. They rely on each other.
Ok. Dilty is comfort. That's it.
And I guess right now, Delds might be trying to force it to evolve because he wants to get over Hess and also try to have what her and Fab have.
Walk to the Hospital || Dedalus
Here she was, leaning beside the common room door. Sleepy as hell with dark purple bags sitting under her eyes. Sleep wasn't simple, and she didn't welcome it. But the girl was waiting for Dedalus Diggle, of all people, to walk with her to the hospital wing. She first thought that he was just doing it to be nice, until she realized that he was just doing it to make sure she went. Cara might've felt a little bit hurt, but she completely understood. She didn't trust herself to go alone. She would've been walking, thinking about actually getting there, but then she'd be sitting on her bed in the dorm, staring at the wall. She didn't want to do that, it was just what happened.
White Blank Page
It was morning, middle of January. A gray light filled Dedalus' dorm as he lied down in bed. His body felt heavy has he sat up and so did his conscience. Last night had given him a summary of the past week in form of a dream, or maybe it wasn't a dream since it all seemed so real, so reachable - perhaps he had been awake all that time without really noticing. He stood up and started pacing, running his hands trough is hair. Dedalus didn't know what to do with his feelings anymore, it seemed too much for a 15 year old boy, too much for just one head, just one heart.
He felt terribly guilty about what he'd done to Cara, even if it had been just a kiss - he felt like he had played with her emotions. Being as stubborn as he was, he knew that feeling wasn't going away easily. However, that wasn't what concerned him the most. He knew himself (or at least he thought he did), he knew he didn't do that kind of thing without reason, without feeling anything. A part of him was sure he liked Cara while the other part held on to Hestia, like it always would. As much as he wanted to let go, this part of him made him back away everytime he thought of liking someone else. Afterall, he'd known Hestia since childhood.
This time, he wanted to jump of the edge somehow. He wanted to make an effort, take a chance and all of the similar options. Cara was worth it. If she wasn't, she had let him go as soon as he said he didn't like her. Hestia had Fabian, it was time to move on, or at least try it. He would be there for her, forever - that he was sure - but this was now. Now it was Cara who needed him and he needed her somehow. She would make his days better, when he was feeling bad, she would make him feel like he was worth it and he would do the same for her as long as she wanted him to stay. Together, was how they should be.
He had been fighting with himself since the very beggining. It was all up to him now: he had the change to take the opportunity to be with someone right, someone for him, or leave it behind to fill his mind with "what if". Either he had took a warm-blooded decision or not, he had never been so sure of anything. Why not?, he thought. He had to tell Cara now, he had to do it. Dedalus then realized what expect him next and a shiver ran down his spine. He was nervous again, only this time he was happy.
The Daisy Field
Dedalus felt his face turn bright red as Cara placed her lips on his cheek. He moved a little away from her, looking straight into her eyes. A moment of silence. A quick breeze passed through them, it was the only sound in minutes. Leaning smoothly before her face, he tucked a lock of Cara's blonde hair behind her hear. His heart was beating faster and faster. Suddenly, he slowly pressed his lips against hers. Dedalus' mind went blank, surprisingly.
Like a lightening, he came down to earth. He moved away once more, looking away this time. He stared at the grass. What did just happen?, he thought once and again. "Miss Cara, I- I-...I shouldn't have...It wasn't right for me too...I apologize", he said mumbling.
