I swear every ten business days we hear about how AI is actually powered by severely underpaid and overworked people in Africa and SE Asia and NOT the magic lie to you machine that every big tech company swears is on the brink of becoming AGI like are we supposed to be shocked anymore? And it's always framed as if I'm supposed to feel bad for the consumer like no I feel bad for the exploited workers being labeled "AI" who have to answer every inane question, pretend to be an AI lover, identify exploitative or violent media for "AI content review," like I do not care about the first world consumer nearly as much as I care about THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO PRETEND TO BE AI IN THE NAME OF META'S BOTTOM FUCKING LINE.
