A fun little AU i just came up with is Dimitri leaving Mayview for Paradise Island, but continuing his supernatural adventures by studying under an Obeah practitioner. It would be a interesting way to explore the boundaries between the Paranatural world we know and supernatural belief systems from specific cultures.

It would also be fun to see how Dimitri deals with it; as far as we know, seeing ghosts and having magic powers hasn't caused any dissonance with his logical mindset, but the religious angle might throw him off a bit.

Most of all it would fill the Vibe-shaped hole in my heart 😭 miss this comic very dearly

quick tangent he hates his dad for legacy reasons, failing to live up to his expectations as the oldest sibling that wasn't completely fucked from the get-go. also for abandoning him during an apocalyptic event that too. what i'm trying to say is he has daddy issues ok

anyways here’s a quik summary

a flamboyant and extravagant businessman who uses his engaging personality to hide that he’s seen things beyond his own comprehension. reckless, impulsive and antagonistic, he picked a fight with gaia and barely came back alive, now with an eye that’s functionally dead among other things.

he fills his life with meaningless materialism and senseless violence to avoid having to confront that he doesn’t know what he wants out of his life. as long as he keeps himself occupied or shitfaced, the issues are as good as gone to him. he and his sister went through a near-apocalyptic event when ego, the arbiter of pride, escaped containment and went on a homicidal rampage, killing millions. despite the lasting damage, to him it’s just another issue that can be solved by abusing medication and drinking hard liquor with his breakfast.

despite being the richest man to ever exist he is still bitchless and alone. he leads a loveless life that he can’t compensate for with money, and it doesn't help that his sister constantly rubs it in. desire's character motif is literally "love" and infatuation i think he could take some notes. hoeless behavior amirite
