The Apocalypse made that nobody slept soundly, and Dina was not exempt from this. The slightest sound could wake her up, and that was probably what had happened now. She sat up straight on the mattress she had shoved in the build-in wardrobe she had discovered in the hallway. One of the doors leading outside had a busted lock, so she hadn’t just wanted to sleep where she would be easily found and it had been late when she had come upon the little cottage, leaving her no time to fix something up so nobody would be able to get in.
She felt around her on the mattress for her gun. If there was more than one person, it wouldn’t do her much good, as she only had two bullets left, but at least she would be able to put one in her own brain in case it was a horde of walkers. It seemed unlikely though, it sounded like there were only one pair of feet prowling the house.
She slowly got to her feet, peering through the shutters in the closet door, watching as what seemed to be a woman, was making her way through the living room toward her. The woman also seemed to be on her guard, which was smart. You never knew what you’d find in a new building.
In this case, it was Dina she was going to find.
The blonde, slowly pushed open the door, trying to keep it from creaking, and aimed her gun at the other woman. “You… Are trespassing.”
