𝐇𝐀𝐖𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 hanging above the town’s crown, shifting light and darkness to illuminate a dreamy globe. as if the world was off her shoulders and she was right on top of the moon, she laid flat against grassy terrain. the soft breeze of the night brushed against her skin, cooling the body down over suffering through a burning morning well into the afternoon. she promised herself that she would take the time to go home, feed her pet and study just a little bit. finals were weeks away but it never hurt to be prepared for the field she was dying to get into. how she tangled herself with a former jock, self proclaimed king of hawkins high could have her younger self vomit in disgust. there was no possible way that harrington would be this interested to seek her out and ask to see her– even if it was just for a few minutes. strolling along the outskirts of town, she found the spot she lays in now just to simply gaze at the stars. it felt better than staying in a home where danger could come knocking on her door at any moment.
they talked of their glory days, the circles of people they were caught up in. sersi jumped from the hidden goths, the metalheads, the freaks and geeks to settle with who she is now. it took so much effort to mold the type of guard she built for herself and keep those who meant harm out. and they were different people compared to who they were two years ago. it seemed like a short time but when there’s too many events that occur, a lot of growing up takes place. in hundreds of ways, she wished she could keep her youth– the nativity of learning new things and restarting her life. she kept most of her secrets to herself, not wanting to ruin their solitude or lead into downplaying her past, “ you know— if you asked me to hang out with you senior year, i would’ve said no, flat out, ” her tone was playful, skating along a light chuckle that earned her one from his side. for the seconds that pass, it was blissful… and mutual and understanding. they didn’t need to establish anything. emotions were climbing up the ladder on its own. you wouldn’t be the first, she hears. perhaps a taste of sorrow hidden underneath his tone. she turned her head to look at him in the short distance created, sympathy formed in a sweet smile, “ –sorry, ” she felt bad for a minute, observing his expression, “ you’re not so bad now. ”
