Cuisine: French-Mediterranean           Neighborhood: Downtown
Rated one of Canadaâs Top 10 restaurants by Vogue Magazine, Bodega brightens up Baldwin street village with its fresh and contemporary approach to French cuisine.
Serving tastes that are classic and please the senses, indulge in the French onion soup gratinee, the roasted beets with bleu dâ auvernge, walnuts in a soothing orange garlic ginger dressing or the pan seared scallops and prawn ravioli with saffron cream sauce and crispy onions. Luxurious French cuisine at its best, Bodegaâs offerings include wild mushroom and spinach risotto cake, roasted red pepper relish and seasonal vegetables, or the roasted duck breast and crispy duck leg confit with wild-mushroom, bread pudding and a blueberry vinaigrette. Savouring every last bite, save room for delightful desserts such as the chocolate, espresso, and baileyâs flourless cake with crème anglaise and raspberry coulis or the profiteroles with French vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Other Reviews
With delicate pastry outside encasing a creamy middle, the profiterole is as much a French classic as a Hermes scarf or an Edith Piaf chanso. At Bodega, the traditional ice cream centre gets a revamp with fig and port. The result is mild and delicious, with just a hint of the sweet fortified wine and speckles of fruit. The entire affair is covered with a thick chocolate sauce, and lots of it, along with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. -Toronto Life
Though it's one of the more upscale restaurants on Baldwin, Bodega manages to achieve a rare balance between easy comfort and fine dining -Now Magazine
It is a great place to have a cocktail party or sit down dinner. The rooms can accommodate up to 50 people, so you can rent out the whole place for meetings, anniversary parties or even weddings (Bodega has hosted many weddings, from which there are thank you cards lining the walls on the way to the bathrooms). And there is off-site catering, which Paul says he enjoys, being able to cook in people's homes and backyards. -Dine.To
