🏒 Dino Ciccarelli: First 50-Goal Scorer in North Stars History 🏆
The Minnesota North Stars had been part of the NHL since 1967, but it wasn’t until their 15th season that one of their own reached the coveted 50-goal milestone.
On a memorable night at the Met Center, Dino Ciccarelli scored both his 49th and 50th goals of the 1981-82 season in a dominant 8-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.
✨ Goal #49 came at 8:18 of the first period, assists to Craig Hartsburg and Neal Broten. ✨ Goal #50 followed in the second at 12:04, with Tom McCarthy and Broten again setting the play.
Ciccarelli also picked up an assist on the final goal of the game, finishing the night with three points. Goalie Mike Liut was in net for both of Dino’s tallies before Rick Heinz stepped in for the Blues in the third.
He would end the season with 55 goals, a total that still stands as the franchise record for the Minnesota North Stars/Dallas Stars, tied only by Brian Bellows in 1989-90.
📈 Dino Ciccarelli, Brian Bellows, and Mike Modano remain the only players in franchise history to hit 50.
