National Geographic’s Dinopedia Brings Prehistoric Animals to Life on the Apple iPad
It’s one of National Geographic’s newest creations with Scrollmotion , and after spending mere days in the iTunes App Store, reviewers are already calling it “beautifully done,” “fun and informative,” and “a must have for dinosaur lovers!”
It’s National Geographic’s Dinopedia App, which takes everything the award-winning book has to offer in print, and beautifully translates it for mobile use. The App features visually stunning 3D illustrations, dynamic narration, multi-touch animation and informational moving text.
The dino-centric App also boasts an astounding number of informational profiles for individual dinosaurs. Each profile offers detailed information about the over 700 different kinds of dinosaurs included in the app’s epic catalogue. Users can explore the interactive “Family Trees” of their favorite dinosaurs, or select individual dinosaur profiles that are equipped with multiple options displayed below their photo that include: Dino Stats, The Story, Fun Fact, and Picture Info.
The App also offers a detailed section about meat eaters and plant eaters with fun fact boxes and size comparisons. Other sections allow users to take a closer look at everything from hatching to migrations, from finding fossils to extinction. The App also features a visual table of contents that allows users to jump to the information they are looking for with the touch of their finger.
The Dinopedia iPad App is the most complete, interactive and educational dinosaur reference to date and is available for download in the iTunes App Store.
