A blog devoted to covering Bangkok's indie underground music scene.
Another recommendation from episode 2 guest, Dino Tarasin. Dave Crimaldi’s blog is an excellent resource for people looking to learn more about alternative music in Bangkok.

Dino’s LIST
During our interview with Dino in Episode 2: “Because Art is Underground in Thailand”, he gave us a list of bands that he feels best express the Thai rock scene. Dino’s recommendations include Count the thief, Wolves vs Fairies, Apartment Khunpa, Bodyslam, Polycat, Young Man and the Sea, Brand New Sunset, and CANA. Below are clips of some of these bands performing live around Bangkok. ENJOY!
Bodyslam:
Polycat:
Brand New Sunset:
Cana:
Count the Thief:
Since arriving in Bangkok I have been on a search for bands like Degaruda. I am familiar with mega popular acts like Bodyslam (imagine a Thai version of a mash-up between Taking Back Sunday and Incubus), and I have come across smaller groups like Brand New Sunset who have opened for New Found Glory, but Degaruda embodies the dissonance, creativity, and playful edge reminiscent of the D.C.hardcore scene and some of my favorite music from my youth in Maryland. I’m stoked to be able to sit down with Dino (that’s the dude front-and-center kicking this song off with an impromptu cover of Lorde’s “Royals”) and learn more about some of the city’s alternative music.
