Left the modern world late enough to experience windows xp but early enough to miss out on youtube and facebook
i feel like david was very much like me and didn’t even have a cell, much less enough friends to use up all his texting limits (”idk, my bff jill?”) but karl DEFINITELY had a myspace
That’s the show
l LOVED the Skybax, loved David's character growth, hate heights and flying, BUT it did instill in me great love for the horse/rider dynamic in stories and yes, I DID absolutely cry about How To Train Your Dragon
The quality of the practical effects and the fact that they built real sets is what really made me love the series. I mean, if the Henson workshop is involved it's gonna be pretty good. And the cgi was fairly well done for the time and the budget! The fact that they used both is what makes it hold together, that there wasn't complete reliance on composite shots and green screen. Enough of it was real to make the whole place come alive and I miss that kind of commitment to artistry *sigh*
Happy 20th birthday to the greatest scene from Dinotopia (close second is when Karl blatantly plagiarized Bohemian Rhapsody for his essay)
