Barack Obama’s Advice for Donald Trump on ‘The Tonight Show’
Jimmy Fallon brought back the orange hair, squinty eyes, and red tie to play Donald Trump on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The host reprised his role as Trump in a new sketch in which Trump and President Obama (Dion Flynn) chitchat about Trump’s recent success in the polls.
The sketch opened with Obama hanging out in the Oval Office crossing out days on the calendar that he has left as president. Obama’s cellphone rings, and when he answers, it’s Trump. And the two got along surprisingly pretty well. Trump said, “I watched your speech at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, and it was hilarious.” To which Obama replied: “I watched your speech on foreign policy — the feeling is mutual, buddy.”
And Obama being the bigger man with bigger hands decided it was best to give Trump some advice on how to pick the best running mate. Obama said to Trump, “What you need someone who is intelligent, eloquent, and can inspire people.” Trump said, “All right, maybe I’ll pick you to be my VP.” To which Obama replied back with a strong “Hell no!”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
